Role Overview

Homebound is seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a software development background as well as BI and analytics experience, and will be a key driver for scaling analytics and data-driven decision making at Homebound. The candidate would be comfortable in a fast-paced multi-tasked environment to establish and scale data and reporting best practices. The most successful candidate must possess a relentless bias for action and be extremely detail oriented and organized. 

Responsibilities

  • Build trusted and scalable data models to power reporting and analytics that power our entire operations.
  • Design, develop, and extend DBT in a repeatable, scalable way to progress Homebound’s overall data maturity.
  • Model, design, develop, test and implement complex backend structures to meet visualization, reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Collaborate with leaders/members in data engineering, engineering, product management, and stakeholders on data, analytics, and reporting needs.
  • Lead the development of our SQL Modeling layer written in LookML & DBT ensuring it is performant, organized, and well-implemented.
  • Lead the development of reporting and analytical infrastructure.
  • Continuously learn about the industry trends and up-level organizational knowledge in data-related fields.

What You Have Done In Your Career

  • 3+ years of professional industry experience in business intelligence, data engineering/architecture, or analytics engineering, and working with self-service BI tools 
  • Expertise within the Looker platform (Models, Explores, Views, Dashboards, Performance, Etc.)
  • Fluency with SQL and Python and expertise with modern data analysis tools like DBT,Airflow, Fivetran, Stitch, etc
  • Strong command of data modeling and warehousing principles, and the ability to build well designed tables that are optimized for analytics
  • Experience working within a cloud-based infrastructure, ideally AWS
  • Experience with cloud data warehouse technologies (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, etc. )
