Lingokids mission is to help 100 million families around the world raise amazing children through playlearning™. To help us on this mission, we are looking for an exceptional executive that will be joining our team to lead our Data discipline.

About the role

As Director of Data Science and Analytics, you will be responsible for building the team, the systems and the practices that enable Lingokids to leverage data and extract impactful insights that will drive decisions across the company.

We have a small 5 person data org right now, but we are hoping to double that in the next 12 months. We’re looking for a leader that can help us in this journey, and help accelerate a culture of data-informed decision making as we scale.

Your work will impact how we think about our customers, our ability to identify and satisfy their needs and build compelling experiences informed by those needs.

Responsibilities:

• Set the vision, strategy and roadmap for data analytics, BI and data science at Lingokids.
• Work closely with the management team and contribute to the overall company strategy.
• Hire, grow, mentor and retain a world-class team of data scientists and data analysts. 
• Support product and business teams in using and leveraging data to extract impactful insights on user behavior that will help drive product and design decisions.
• Closely collaborate with Data Engineering on the data infrastructure roadmap.
• Define the direction, structure, processes and standards for Data across the company (e.g. experimentation framework)
• Take ownership of existing projects such as our Recommendation System and help scale its impact on the business.
• Drive a culture of data-informed decision making as we scale.

Desired experience:

• Experience building and leading a data science and analytics team within a growing organization, preferably working in a large-scale consumer product.
• Experience directly managing a team of 5+ people.
• Excellent knowledge of data science techniques and advanced analytics tools, including coding R, Python, SQL, as well as Looker, Amplitude or similar BI tools. 
• Deep understanding of fundamentals of probability and statistics. 
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with product managers and other leaders in the organization.
• Preferably an advanced degree in a quantitative field such as math, physics, computer science, statistics etc.
