About the Ecommerce Marketing Analyst Position

Moonshot is looking for an innovated problem solver with a deep understanding of e-commerce and digital analytics and the ability to leverage data to find opportunities. This person will not only support our DTC and Amazon marketing teams, but they’ll also play a major in utilizing the information across our suite of brands to develop industry-changing systems. You'll be responsible for doing deep analysis to identify where there are pockets of opportunity, ensure that teams have the data they need to answer their own questions, measure changes and create new data sets that will be used throughout the company. Your work will inspire new products, digital experiences, identify users that are under-served, measure key business metrics, and influence the strategy of our product and customer experience.

Ecommerce Marketing Analyst Responsibilities

  • Serve as a creative, analytical mind on the team to provide strategic recommendations for developing and improving earned and social media campaigns
  • Use web and social media analytics platforms to measure campaign success and provide data-backed recommendations for optimization
  • Implement data repositories and reporting tools
  • Serve as a data journalist by uncovering strategic findings and insights using a range of digital analytics techniques, such as social listening, to help support business objectives, advance storytelling, and drive engagement
  • Work closely with other team members to compile, synthesize and analyze data sets. As well as, assisting with report creation and presenting to the client.
  • Understand our brand’s background and needs, including general business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers, and competitors in the marketplace
  • You'll be the owner of our traffic analytics and reporting. You'll ensure that the marketing team has the tools, knowledge, and processes to analyze everything from high level trends to individual campaign performance.
  • You'll be a thought partner to the Marketing Leadership team on the best ways to analyze or approach data-driven problems, investigations, and modeling. You'll work with the marketing leadership team to think through quarterly focuses/trade-offs.

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience analyzing marketing data and presenting results to a marketing leadership team
  • 3+ years of experience presenting technical analyses in clear and impactful formats (written summaries, live demos, presentation, etc)
  • Experience working with BI tools like Metabase, Looker, Tableau
  • Experience working with behavioral analytics tools like Amplitude, Mixpanel, Heap is a nice to have (not required)
  • Advanced analytical skills with a proven understanding of statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations
  • Comfort interpreting a variety of different data sources from qualitative research to primary survey data to secondary data sources and creating one cohesive story
  • Working with and creating databases and dashboards utilizing all relevant data to inform decisions
  • Keen eye for data trends and the ability to investigate and articulate factors that may account for these trends
  • Strong understanding of principles of communications, digital marketing, and news media
