About the team: 

Marketplace Demand drives the input to Convoy’s flywheel by bidding and pricing short and long-term freight opportunities. To achieve this goal, we predict the short and long-term costs of trucks, simulate network scenarios, understand Shipper needs and price sensitivities, while defining optimization objective functions, and managing ongoing yield of client relationships. This requires a high degree of product ML and forecasting capabilities, economic/ process innovation, and building a demand-side platform that aggregates opportunities from a wide range of bespoke shipper systems with high-data accuracy. Our cost forecasts are a key part of Convoy’s "secret sauce" and are critical inputs to a wide variety of other ML/ OR problems at Convoy. This includes supply side matching.

About you:

You will own a greenfield 0 to 1 platform and focus your work on the pricing system and forecasting engine that allows Convoy to operate profitably.  Using ML, you will help define how the prediction on costs of servicing a given shipment and input for profit return by using ML. This system will power the rest of Convoy’s predictive systems. Ideal experience with pricing and marketplace systems & experience shipping platform (ML platform highly preferred). You will be working across multiple disciplines, including Engineering and Data Science.
