ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for Senior Data Engineers to join our data team. We are a fast growing team and you will have the chance to work on a wide range of products.

The ideal candidate is passionate about data collection, creating reliable data pipelines, and providing insight to our data.

Products you will build and work on:

  • The Data Engineering Team maintains and builds out the data platform in Google Cloud, enabling data scientists, data analysts, and business users to generate insights or deploy models.
  • The Data Engineering Team creates and maintains pipelines in AWS using Python, AWS Batch, and Docker that populate our BigQuery data warehouse and other destinations

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain the data pipelines that drive business intelligence, analytics, and data science at Calibrate using Docker and Python
  • Create monitoring to ensure robustness and accuracy of both raw and processed data.
  • Gather requirements from key stakeholders to design and build the data models (with DBT) that underlie all reporting at Calibrate 
  • Maintain and build out the infrastructure in AWS and GCP that powers our ingestion platform
  • Our teams are organized based on the Spotify squad model. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of Data engineering experience shipping production level code. Should be able to hit the ground running and be comfortable deploying a change in the first week. 
  • Experience with DBT, in particular using DBT to build re-usable, testable, and maintainable data models
  • Experience with data warehouses, like Big Query, Redshift, or Snowflake (we use BigQuery)
  • Comfortable writing clear, testable Python code
  • Comfortable in Docker and on the Unix command line
  • Experience with setting up and maintaining AWS infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools a plus (we use Terraform)
  • Experience with Airflow, Prefect, or other task execution platforms a plus
