The data team is the backbone of Roc360’s investment strategy. As our first Data Engineer, you will define the architecture of Roc360’s data pipelines from end to end. This includes data ingestion, transformation, and presentation of data for data scientists and other stakeholders at the company. You will work closely with top investment professionals and data scientists to build the leading data platform for fix-and-flip real estate investment. This full-time role will report to Roc360's Director of Data and can be based in NYC or remote.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will:

• Design and build robust data pipelines to efficiently ingest data from multiple sources and intelligently deal with the complexities of real-world data
• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines to support continuing increases in data volume, diversity, and complexity
• Gather requirements from the data team and other internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvements, set priorities, and execute
• Implement processes and systems to supervise data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for the teams that depend on it
• Migrate existing pipelines and data to a unified data platform

We are looking for someone with:

• 3+ years experience building data pipelines and warehousing infrastructure
• Experience working with complex, messy, real-world data, including cleaning and deduplication, familiarity with entity resolution within and across datasets
• Enthusiasm for working as part of a cross-functional team, collaborating with engineers, scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders
• Excitement about introducing scalable development tools like source control, containers, and testing to a growing team of data scientists
• Experience building, deploying, and maintaining production data pipelines on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or similar
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
