We’re spotlighting members of our HER Employee Resource Group every week of Women’s History Month to share stories from their careers and tips to empower women in the workplace. Say hi to our Owner and Guest Services Advisor, Jamaica! She focuses her leadership skills on helping company-wide teammates connect and grow together. “I have been an interim co-lead in an Employee Resource Group (ERG), and I also lead the social interactions to help drive engagement. My leadership skills have been honed in, so I am able to help train new hires when they come in. After experiencing interactions in workplaces with woman who felt their questions weren't worthy of being answered, she’s used her voice and her sense of curiosity to help everyone feel included. “I try to use my voice and openness to inspire others to bring their unique perspective and personalities, since diversity can increase innovation and creativity. In my experience, more knowledge has never hurt anyone, so I strive to understand not only my bubble of reality, but also the reality of those I interact with for a more holistic view of how to approach difficult problems that arise.” #WomensHistoryMonth #WomensLeadership #herstory

This Women’s History Month, we’re giving members of our HER Employee Resource Group the spotlight to share stories about career moments that paved the way for fellow women, as well as advice for the next generation looking to make an impact. We’re kicking things off with Director of Learning & Enablement, Ana. Her first leadership position gave her the opportunity to create an equitable program to help more early-career women develop their skills, and was able to watch firsthand what that support can do. “Over time, several of those female applicants went on to become talented employees, and they in turn helped scale other teams and departments, validating our efforts at championing opportunities for women at the company. This is what made me realize early on that representation matters, and that it’s on us as female leaders (especially when we have a seat at the table) to create opportunities in any way we can for others.” #WomensHistoryMonth #WomensLeadership #herstory

Members of our Black at Evolve (BAE) Employee Resource Group helped us celebrate Black History Month by hosting events and highlighting Black-owned business we can support. And even as the month comes to an end, Evolvers like Rochelle remind us that “it’s important to recognize and appreciate the contributions of Black individuals past and present” all year long.

We’re spotlighting Evolve vacation rental owners for Black History Month so they can share stories about their experiences in the industry, as well as inspire other owners with their tips and insights. Lakisha and Derrick jumped at the chance to invest in their favorite vacation spot, Broken Bow, OK, combining their entrepreneurial experience with community connections to set up their rental for success. “You must surround yourself with individuals who have been where you are trying to go and those who may not have been, but are interested in seeing you succeed and go beyond your imagination.
