📢 At GoGuardian, we’ve long believed in the power of technology to support student safety. Now, a new study shows that digital safety tools like Beacon may play a meaningful role in broader suicide prevention strategies. The study analyzed youth suicide trends from 2018 to 2022 and found: 📉Youth suicide rates were significantly lower (26%) in counties that actively used Beacon from 2021-2022, even when accounting for demographic and regional differences. As one of the first large-scale, quantitative analyses of digital suicide risk alerting tools in school settings, this research lays important groundwork. School leaders have been navigating how to establish clear AI policies in their districts, and the recent executive order doubled down on this need.
