📣 Geisinger will implement OncoHealth’s market-leading software and services platform, which combines #oncology value management services with virtual cancer care to be sure members with cancer get the most appropriate treatment and support throughout their treatment. Services include 24/7 oncology nursing, mental health, nutrition, and resource navigation. On today’s announcement, Jamie Miller, associate vice president of pharmacy at Geisinger Health Plan noted, “Our goal is to prioritize the needs of our members going through treatment. They have received a life-threatening diagnosis, and the last thing we want is to make that treatment harder than it should be. With the help of OncoHealth, we’re able to create a more collaborative process so we can work closely with our providers and health system to make sure members receive the white-glove care they deserve.” Geisinger Health Plan will begin rolling out OncoHealth in Q2 2024. https://lnkd.in/evwg6ZUK #irisbyoncohealth #cancersupport

Iris Oncology Nurses do amazing work providing 24/7 care and support for our members with cancer. And sometimes they take a "break" to share the results of the work of our interdisciplinary team with their peers. Lindsay Boudinot and Christie Frick, RN, BSN, OCN presented results at the Oncology Nursing Society ONS Congress 2024 in Washington, DC this week. To learn about how nurse navigation builds trust and delivers results in a virtual care setting: https://lnkd.in/eqxEgECF #oncologynurses #oncologycare #virtualcare

👋 Laura Bobolts, PharmD, BCOP here with another recap from #AMCP202 🙌 ❓What was you favorite talk at AMCP❓ ((Mention Melissa Pozotrigo’s multiple myeloma talk or mine on breast cancer for brownie points 😝 just kidding, I don’t cook, no brownies here people!)) Here were 3 more that caught my eye… 👀 1️⃣ Value-Based Agreements and Innovative Contracting 🔵 Uncertainty around the long-term outcomes of gene therapy is pushing many to start conversations about value-based contracts. There is no precedence for managing ulta-high cost therapies. 🔵 Payer barriers to implementing value-based agreements include identifying measurable outcomes, engaging providers, & defining ROI 2️⃣ Future of Cell & Gene Therapy: There is More Than Value-Based Contracting 🔵 In a survey of 30 health plan employees… only 67% attested “yes” to covering cell & gene therapies for commercial members. There has to be more to this. Why is this not higher? Prior authorization was the most common management tool for cell & gene therapies at 87%, while 83% have explored value-based contracts for these agents 3️⃣ An Update on IRA (Inflation Reduction Act): What’s Your Perspective 🔵 For Medicare members, the health plan’s liability in the catastrophic phase for Part D drugs goes from 20% to 60% next year 🔵 There are many questions to how plans with react to the IRA with their formulary design & strategies So your fav #AMCP talk was what again? 🧐 Such a busy conference - so great to see so many smiling faces when I was running off to the next talk! #OncoHealth #ManagedcareBCOPsrock

🌟HUGE KUDOS to Melissa Pozotrigo, PharmD, BCOP, OncoHealth’s Senior Clinical Oncology Pharmacist, who presented at #AMCP2024 on managed care approaches to BCMA-targeted therapy in Multiple Myeloma!🌟 The content Melissa & her co-presenter, the brilliant Rebecca Gonzalez, PharmD, BCOP from Moffitt Cancer Center, delivered was 🎉fantastic— packed with tons of relevant trial data, pointed managed care insights, & even real world studies. 🧐 Here’s a recap…🧐 ✨ CAR T-cell therapy moved from 5th to 2nd (Carvykti) or 3rd (Abecma) line or later multiple myeloma, which may increase costs given increased patient eligibility vs later line use ✨ Total cost per *complete responders* over 25 months was ~ $981,884 w/ Carvykti (CAR-T) vs $4,776,015 w/ systemic therapy (DPd or PVd) in relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma patients from CARTITUDE-4 ➡️ 1 dose of CAR-T can carry benefits over multiple doses of constant systemic therapy ✨ Real world evidence is becoming available showing responses after a 2nd dose of CAR-T! Payer policies typically restrict use to one lifetime dose. Will treatment patterns & policies change in the future as more evidence becomes available? ✨ CAR-T product preference is challenging given the supply issues. One study found for every 1 slot allocated for Abecma CAR-T, 20 patients were waitlisted - waiting 6 months on average to gain access! ✨ Bispecific antibody product selection is a hot topic in multiple myeloma Can’t wait to see where Melissa Pozotrigo, PharmD, BCOP presents next, so very proud of her! 🙌 #OncoHealth #AMCP #ClinicalCareOptions #ProCE #ManagedcareBCOPsrock

Fabulous sessions at Business Group on Health meeting. Access and equitable care are core discussion topics — leaders are sharing that virtual care is key to meeting needs wherever employees are. In an opening discussion with health and well-being leaders at Walmart who support 1.6 million associates across the country their partner at Kindbody Dr Fahimeh Sasan noted “That challenge of being able to provide care to someone who lives in a small town AND an urban city, [with virtual care] you can make it work — that’s where that equity comes from.” #virtualcare #employeebenefits

Business Group on Health says cancer is the most prevalent and costliest workforce health issue for employers, yet employees don’t have the support they need. In an OncoHealth survey of 450 people with cancer: ☎️ 66% were not provided a nurse line from their doctor for after-hours support 🫂73% Did not use or have access to mental health therapy or peer support groups 🍏 65% Had no access to nutritional support   That’s why the innovative health plans we work with offer their employers #IrisbyOncoHealth cancer support programs that complement traditional oncology care. Want to elevate support for your employees? Learn more at https://lnkd.in/gvMaJhzA Going to be at the Business Group on Health 2024 meeting?
