Content Warning: The below video features real stories about body appearance and may be upsetting or sensitive to some.    New research from the Dove Self-Esteem Project shows 8 in 10 youth mental health specialists say social media is fueling a mental health crisis.   I'm proud to share that the Dove Self-Esteem Project will evolve its mission to help make social media safer for young people with the Campaign for Kids’ Online Safety. Together, with our partners at Common Sense Media and ParentsTogether Foundation, the Dove Self-Esteem Project is supporting the 2023 Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) in the US – legislation that calls for updated design standards, safeguards, and tools to protect kids’ overall experiences online.   To illustrate the scale of the issue and drive urgent action to protect the next generation, we released a new campaign film “Cost of Beauty,” which tells Mary's story and the impact toxic beauty content on social media had on her mental health through UGC. The film closes with additional young people who have suffered from mental health issues sparked by social media – like anxiety, depression and body dysmorphia – and are now in recovery. We sincerely thank these brave young people for sharing their personal stories with us so others can feel seen and heard. 🎈Today we're celebrating a Year of Progress: Happy 1st Birthday to the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act! 🎉 🥳 ✨ Time flies, and it's incredible to mark the first anniversary of this groundbreaking legislation that has been a huge win for working parents. The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) has ushered in a new era of rights and support for pregnant and postpartum workers, ensuring they receive the accommodations they deserve. What does the PWFA mean for pregnant and postpartum workers? 🌟 The PWFA has become a crucial safeguard, entitling pregnant or postpartum workers to a range of accommodations that contribute to their well-being and workplace satisfaction. Pregnant and postpartum workers are now entitled to: 💼 Flexible schedules 🏋️♀️ Relief from heavy lifting 🚻 Taking pee breaks 🪑 And the right to sit! No longer do pregnant or postpartum workers need to make impossible choices between their jobs and their health, or the health of their baby. The PWFA has leveled the playing field, ensuring that reasonable requests related to pregnancy and postpartum must be accommodated by employers. As organizers, we know that we need to bring as many people as possible into this work that share our goal of building school systems where every child is safe, included, and educated. That’s why we are grateful for partners in this work like Red Wine and Blue, League of Women Voters of Ohio, and ParentsTogether Foundation, who each asked us to share our expertise with their members. Over the past few weeks, more than 1,000 people from across the country registered for these sessions to learn about why school boards matter and what questions to ask candidates. By working together, we’ll get to our shared goals for kids in our communities faster!

Sending a huge thanks to Global Women’s Strike for organizing and for including us and the co-sponsors ParentsTogether Foundation Economic Security Project and RESULTS in the Congressional Briefing around expanded tax credits for caregivers. Rep. Gwen Moore continues to inspire the moms like our amazing mom who spoke before members of Congress this week! We look to Congresswoman Moore’s example for overcoming the punitive nature of our income system and family regulation systems. Like her we work to preserve our families and those of others.
