[Fun fact] We wouldn't exist if it weren't for the impact of one teacher. Read our story. ⤵️ 👬 Our founders struggled in school due to learning disabilities. 👩🏫 One teacher went out of their way to build relationships with them and their parents, which transformed their learnign experience. 🌟 Later in life, our founders realized that these relationships are crucial for helping students succeed. 🤝 They initially created our platform to make it easy for teachers to build relationships with students and parents. 💙 Our platform has since become a place where entire school communities can unite. 💚 Now, we have joined the ParentSquare family and will combine our strengths to support school communities. #Educators #K12Education #EdTech

Not sure where to start with family engagement? Try one of these 5 strategies. ⬇️ 1️⃣ Collect parent, caregiver, and family perspectives. By involving families in some decisions and soliciting their input on policies and initiatives, schools and districts can help families feel more ownership in the educational process. 2️⃣ Provide at-home resources. To help families reinforce classroom learning, schools can send home resources like links to websites explaining a concept or conversation starters encouraging dinner-table discussion about classroom topics. 3️⃣ Provide education opportunities. Family members can stay connected to school by attending school-sponsored workshops and seminars. 4️⃣ Invite families to volunteer. Parents and caregivers who have the time and interest make great classroom and school volunteers. They can get involved in the library, fundraising events, field trips, and after-school activities. 5️⃣ Recognize and appreciate engaged family members. Families appreciate it when schools acknowledge their engagement efforts. In addition to certificates of appreciation, thank-you notes, and awards, administrators can publicize family recognition with announcements to the community. Did you know we recently partnered with ParentSquare to help improve family engagement? We're so excited to achieve great things for school communities as a team. 🙌 #EdLeadership #Education #SchoolLeaders

We recommend sending messages to your school community every day. This is why. ⤵️ Many households have unpredictable or busy routines. Daily announcements, affirmations, and reminders through text can help families focus and get children started on the right foot each day. Messages can sound like: 💬 "You've been preparing for it: Civil War test today! Have a good breakfast and hit that test with full energy!" 💬 "Don't forget about this Friday's field trip. Consent forms with signatures need to be turned in by this Thursday." Do you send messages daily, weekly, or monthly? We want to know. ⬇️ #Education #EdLeadership #K12Education

📲 Did you know texting can boost families' abilities to support their students? This is how. ⬇️ Many families want to help their children with class topics and homework but don't feel that they can. For example, math is now taught differently in schools from how most adults were taught. Or, families may have completed their education in a language other than English. In these examples, adults may lack the tools to review and practice material with their children in a way that reinforces what they learn in class. Texting families about school learning can help address this issue. In one study, text notifications about math helped families that had little or no experience in explaining concepts. After receiving these texts in their primary languages, the families reported being able to work with their children on math homework. They also got better at building on the assignments and discussing them in meaningful and personally relevant ways. 🔁 Reshare this post to spread the word about texting and family support. #Education #K12Education #EdLeadership
