It's #NFLDraft Day 1! This is a big day at our company. So much work goes into it - from the scouts on our operations team ranking every player and cranking out upwards of 350 scouting reports to our analytics team putting together a statistical suite that rivals any out there in terms of comprehensiveness to our engineering team making sure everything is up and running. The 2025 NFL Draft is in April. But did you also know there's an NFL Draft in my "Intro to Sports Analytics" class at University of North Carolina at Charlotte? Every spring semester, I have an NFL Draft where 32 students play the role of GM for all 32 NFL teams. They are assigned to evaluate players by using analytical metrics in addition to traditional stats as well as explaining their pick to the media. A huge thanks goes to Sports Info Solutions for supplying their incredible data to my students. This is just another example how experiential learning is used in the classroom.

It was great to bring back SIS alumni Jack Cecil, MBA and Alex Eisert to speak to our seasonal Video Scouts earlier this week as part of our Career Development program. Jack and Alex work in Research & Development for the Pirates and Blue Jays, respectively. They spoke about how they got their jobs, their careers, and their current work, emphasizing things that would benefit the career prospects for those in attendance. SIS has a group working in baseball. Every few weeks we provide our employees the opportunity to network. SIS uses its alumni network to help build the next generation of baseball employees. Manocherian joined SIS in 2016 as a football consultant and has steadily risen through the organization. He played a pivotal role in building the football operation from the ground up, serving as Director of Football Development, then Director of Football and Research, Vice President of Football and Research, and most recently, Senior Vice President of Football and Data Analytics. Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier and made his MLB debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers on this date in 1947. During his career, he established himself as one of the best players in baseball. His legacy is everlasting. Today we celebrate his impact on baseball, sports, and society. Sports Info Solutions is hosting an event on Tuesday afternoon in which its employees will discuss his life and legacy. We provided a list of movies, podcasts, and articles for them to watch, listen to, and read. Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee regularly hosts interactive talks and guest speakers as a means of educating and encouraging discussion among our employees.

The player pages at our NFL Draft site contain a wealth of information about each NFL Draft prospect. An overview page gives the player's overall grade, rank and brief analysis, along with his strengths and weaknesses, ratings in different facets of the position, and combine results. The overview also applies to his statistical performance. The scouting report tab gives as comprehensive an analysis of that player's skills as you'll find anywhere on the internet. Our scouts break down everything that player would bring to a team. And then the statistics tab rounds everything out with our player-tracking data and our proprietary all-encompassing player value stat, Total Points. Watch the video to see how in-depth we get.
