AADT 2023 counts are here! 🙌 Getting reliable Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) counts is critical for #InfrastructurePlanning. It informs how states, cities, and counties prioritize safety improvements, advance climate resiliency, anticipate roadway repairs, and lots more. But since many roads lack permanent traffic counters, getting accurate counts isn't always easy. Luckily, our 2023 AADT estimates are available for any road, and correlate strongly with ground-truth #AADT, with an r-squared of 0.98 (that's really good, in case statistics isn't your thing). #BikeSafety | This Bike Safety Month, how are you making city streets safer for cyclists? Sometimes, existing roadway redesign projects can open up critical opportunities to improve #ActiveTransportation safety. When Fern Hollow Bridge collapsed, the City of Pittsburgh not only rebuilt it within a year, but also took the opportunity to investigate walking and #biking safety on the corridor leading to the bridge, reducing speed limits and installing a multi-use path and protected #BikeLane to support cyclists, who had previously contended with high-speed vehicle traffic. #CityPlanning | Big city #transportation projects get a lot of attention, but today we're spotlighting some of our favorite City Stories, where smaller agencies are doing more with less to address #mobility challenges in their communities. Read below to see how City of Pasadena reduced #speeding by 60% with data-backed traffic calming measures, while City of Temecula solved #congestion 3 months faster by retiming traffic signals across the city. Last but not least, one #California city proved the positive impact of highway turn restrictions and ramp meters to curb cut-through traffic, using data-driven communications to earn resident support.
