Vinovest, a platform founded to uncork the bottlenecked access to fine wine investing, launched a $30 million Capital Whiskey Fund vehicle at the end of last month to invest in barrels and casks of whiskey and scotch. The tech company, which claims to have more than 150,000 investors, constructs portfolios across wineries and distilleries so limited partners can buy into the maturation process of wines and spirits, betting on their appreciation.

Vinovest just wrapped up its cask valuations. After 1 year, the average American whiskey casks saw its value jump at least 20%. This performance is exciting for two reasons. First, sourcing quality American single malt at an affordable price has been a huge accomplishment, especially considering the tight supply chain and booming demand. Second, the future is bright for American whiskey. In fact, Whisky Advocate predicts that American single malt will soon compete with Scotch on the global stage. The new year is almost here.  But before we turn the page, let’s take one last look back at wine and whiskey investing in 2023. 1️⃣ - In March, Vinovest made whiskey investing possible with Scotch and American whiskey casks. 2️⃣ - Vinovest hosted a ton of webinars in 2023, including one in January with Krug. 3️⃣ - 2022 Bordeaux en primeur was a glorious vintage for wine lovers. Our winery relations team was there to drink it in. 4️⃣ - Wine tasting with NBA star CJ McCollum, anyone? We did exactly that in November. 5️⃣ - Vinovest launched its own wine club in partnership with Wine Access.  6️⃣ - Vinovest hosted a record number of in-person events, including meetups in California, Idaho, Nevada, and New York.  7️⃣ - Our team enjoyed some good wine and good company with each other. #vinovest #wineinvesting #whiskeyinvesting
