We are looking for a Data Acquisition Manager to join our team to work across our product and data teams to accelerate our go-to-market strategies.  This position will closely interact with Data Engineering, Data Science, Growth, Data Strategy and Product Development to support our product roadmap to drive customer satisfaction.

As a Data Acquisition Manager, you will be charged with identifying and onboarding new data assets to power our models and solutions.  You will work closely in a fast paced and highly fluid environment with engineers, data scientists, product experts, and stakeholders throughout the company.  The Data Acquisition team is critical to the success of Socure as it supports all facets (Fraud, KYC, Document Verification, etc.) of our business, drives more predictive analytics and robust solutions, and allows our customers to make better decisions - reducing risk and generating more revenue. 

This position will be reporting directly to Andres Benvenuto, Head of Data Acquisition.  

 

What You'll Do:

  • Lead an innovative hypothesis-driven process to create and manage data strategies that bridge organizational boundaries.
  • Perform deep market analytics and research to develop expertise across technology categories
  • Understand business needs and their use of data to formulate and articulate create procurement strategies to amplify strategic outcomes
  • Build trusting and meaningful internal and external relationships with senior executives across multiple business and services as well as technology functions
  • Develop negotiation strategies and lead contract negotiations with suppliers and internal partners
  • Quantify the impact your strategy and recommendations will have in meaningful ways without sacrificing long-term value for short-term gains
  • Master, communicate and execute spend analysis, risk management, contracting, cost savings methodology, performance reporting, partner engagement, and proficiency with sourcing tools to  unlock supplier value, optimize demand, and improve both internal and external processes.
  •  Interpret quantitative results and translate them into qualitative presentations
  •  Conduct peer reviews and develop rapport with internal stakeholders 
  •  Constantly display an intellectual curiosity and desire for optimization

 

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience using different negotiation tactics; shown success negotiating multi-million dollar contracts with support from legal teams
  • Solid understanding of Know Your Customer (KYC), Identity Verification, and Fraud segments as they relate to customer onboarding for financial institutions 
  • Bachelor’s in engineering, Business, or other quantitative field, or 3-5 years of relevant experience 
  • Ability to grasp deep technical concepts, including predictive analytics and statistical models
  • Penchant for clear, concise, and impactful communication to either technical or business audiences
  • Conceptually sound visionary, omni-directional influencer, and storyteller who stays connected to the details 
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, partnership management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proactive learner following global product, data and technology trends 
  • Ability to travel 5-10% (Post-Covid)

 Preferred Qualifications:

    • R, Python, Bash, or another scripting language.  
    • SQL and RDBMS familiarity.  
    • Tableau, Looker, or other related tools
    • MS Office or similar presentation suites
    • Experience with data intensive analysis
    • Experience with JIRA and other agile tools
    • Experience with hands-on data matching expertise
