What is an Analytics Engineering Intern? 

Analytics engineers provide clean data sets to end users, modeling data in a way that empowers end users to answer their own questions. While a data analyst spends their time analyzing data, an analytics engineer spends their time transforming, testing, deploying, and documenting data. Analytics engineers apply software engineering best practices like version control and continuous integration to the analytics code base.

The Analytics Engineering intern at Clearcover would have the opportunity to operate as an engineer for a segment of the project, working with the stakeholders and internal team members to implement KPI dashboards and the data pipelines to automatically refresh the underlying data.

What will you do?

• Data transformation and data modeling for different source systems (claims, policy, payments etc)
• Design, build, and maintain Looker dashboards to ensure reliable business reporting
• Developed working knowledge of data sources and creating comprehensive documentation of all of them

What do you need?

• Currently enrolled in a BS or MS program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Economics, or Engineering
• Advanced SQL skills to be able to write complex queries
• Eagerness to learn. You are a self-starter with a strong work ethic.
• Good communication skills.  Ability to explain complex ideas in simple words when it comes to data. 
• Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment. You are resilient and can move quickly to get things done.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with Python/R skills
• Experience with data visualization tool such as Looker, Tableau etc
• Experience with DBT (Data Build Tool)
