Primary objectives:

    • Work with customers and the wider Rackspace organizations on re-thinking and re-designing IT Data landscapes using cloud-native technologies
    • Excellent technical architecture skills, design and deliver innovative Proof of Concepts for customers.
    • Build cloud data solutions and provide domain perspective on storage, big data platform services, serverless architectures, Hadoop ecosystem, RDBMS, DW/DM, NoSQL databases, analytics services on public cloud platforms and security.
    • Design and write excellent, fully tested code to build ETL /ELT data pipelines and stream on a public Cloud platform.
    • Participate in deep architectural discussions to build confidence and ensure customer success when building new solutions and migrating existing data applications on the AWS, Azure or GCP platforms
    • Implement product features and refine specifications with our Data scientists, Data Analysts and Data Architects
    • Lead and deliver workshops, ideation and strategy sessions for customers working to solve their business use cases with innovative technology solutions
    • Evangelize the cloud-native paradigm through the delivery of blogs, customer presentations and public speaking engagements
    • Mentor and train other architects/Engineer within the wider Rackspace community on modern cloud-native Data Technologies

Qualifications & Experience:

    • Highly technical and analytical, possessing 10 or more years of Datawarehouse and/or Analytics Systems development and deployment experience, IT systems and engineering experience, security and compliance experience, etc.
    • Minimum of 6 years of experience in architecture of modern data Warehousing platforms using technologies such as Big Data and Cloud
    • Architecture and implementation experience in data ingestion and processing technologies (such as Kafka, Informatica, Data Factory, Alooma, Airflow, Data Quality and Metadata Management).
    • Design and configuration of data movement, streaming and transformation (ETL) technologies such as Informatica, Nifi, Kafka, Storm, Sqoop, SSIS, Alteryx, Pentaho, Alooma, Airflow.
    • Creation of descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions using Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Analysis Services, Data Lake Analytics, HDInsight, HDP, Spark, Databricks, MapReduce, Pig, Hive, Tez, SSAS.
    • Design and configuration of data movement, streaming and transformation (ETL) technologies such as Azure Data Factory, HDF, Nifi, Kafka, Storm, Sqoop, SSIS, LogicApps, Signiant, Aspera, Alteryx, Pentaho, Alooma, Airflow.
    • Large scale design, implementation and operations of OLTP, OLAP, DW and NoSQL data storage technologies such as SQL Server, Azure SQL, Azure SQL DW, PostgreSQL, CosmosDB, RedisCache, Azure Data Lake Store, Hadoop, Hive, MySQL, Neo4j, Cassandra, HBase
    • Experience working within an agile development process (Scrum, Kanban, etc)
    • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations and virtual teams.
    • Experience with one or more public cloud Data Analytics suite of services including, real-time streaming services, data processing services, SQL query engines, ETL services and visualization services.
    • Required experience on one or more of AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
    • Knowledge or hands-on experience with data visualization and/or data sciences.
    • Track record of implementing cloud data services in a variety of business environments such as large enterprises and start-ups.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Hands on experience leading large-scale global database, data warehousing and analytics projects. 
    • Technical degrees in computer science, software engineering
    • Deep understanding of data architecture and application.
    • Hands on experience as a database, data warehouse, big data/analytics developer/administrator or data scientist.
    • Working knowledge of modern software development practices and technologies such as agile methodologies and DevOps.
    • Cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Developer, GCP Professional Data Engineer or Microsoft Data / AI certifications.

As part of your role, you will:

    • Deliver high-quality work to customers as part of consulting engagements that can be delivered through workshops, presentations or solutions architecture designs
    • Drive the engagements with customers from the architectural pillar, from design to delivery
    • Work in close collaboration with other architects, technical consultants and professional services teams within Rackspace and customer’s teams
    • Work with customers across multiple regions depending on customer locations.
