Yelp’s Business Intelligence team is looking for a remote manager to help us deliver the next generation of BI capabilities for internal decision making at Yelp. Through close, collaborative relationships with business and technology partners throughout the company, you will directly influence Yelp’s Business Intelligence strategy and roadmap. You will also lead, mentor, and support a team of passionate analysts engaged in a diverse portfolio of projects across the company. The tools, BI products, and services this team provides are relied on for both strategic and daily decision making at multiple levels of Yelp including the C-suite. Your creativity, passion for data, and drive to deliver better, quicker, and more trusted answers and insights to a large audience of thirsty decision makers will be key to the continued success and growth of Yelp’s Business Intelligence team.

What You Will Do:

You will develop a deep understanding of the business and partner with leaders across the company to understand BI needs, develop roadmaps, define and manage projects, and act as an escalation point.

You will lead, mentor, and develop a team of BI analysts to make Yelp’s internal data more accessible, understandable, and insightful.

You will establish high team standards through development of internal processes, code review, requirements documentation, and incident response.

You will proactively identify and act upon gaps and opportunities for new BI solutions, data processes, governance, and quality to ensure delivery of consistent and actionable data and insights to decision makers.

You will work closely with a team of Data Engineers to translate requirements, design data models, and facilitate development of efficient, self-service BI solutions.

You will develop Business Intelligence best practices and drive adoption across Yelp through partnerships, training, and promotion of source of truth dashboards and data products.

You will be accountable for multiple projects and ensure plans, roles, constraints, and milestones are well defined and communicated to all project stakeholders.

Where You Come In:

You have 7+ years experience in analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or a related field.

You have 3+ years experience managing a BI, Analytics, or BSA team.

You are experienced in working with company leads and negotiating influencing decisions.

You have professional experience performing data analysis, developing data warehouse models, and deploying business intelligence dashboards and solutions.

You have professional experience managing projects and vendor relationships with multiple stakeholders and project team members across various functional areas. Experience documenting business and technical requirements.

You have worked with at least one data integration tool. SnapLogic preferred.

You have worked with agile development for business intelligence projects.

You are experience with administering an enterprise data visualization platform (Tableau preferred)

You are experienced with data management/cataloging tools (Collibra preferred)

You are highly proficient in reading and writing SQL queries and experience with at least one programming language (Python preferred)

You have working knowledge of database technology and concepts (Redshift preferred)
