B3 Group Inc. is looking for a skilled Data Architect to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data modeling and database design including both relational and data mart/data warehouse database design, breadth and depth in established and emerging data technologies.

A B3 Technical Sr. Analyst will apply expert systems analysis and design techniques to complex enterprise systems. They will have broad knowledge of data sources/flow, interactions of complex systems, and capabilities/limitations of systems software and computer equipment. The B3 Technical Sr. Analyst will be able to establish frameworks for new computer systems from feasibility studies to post implementation evaluation, recognize probable conflicts and integrate diverse data sources. They will provide innovative solutions for a variety of complex problems, and prepare overall project recommendations.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Migrating on-premise data warehouse to commercially available cloud solutions (AWS and/or Azure). 
  • Support the analytics architecture design for machine learning and business intelligence, with experience on data warehouse and analytics platform integration: SAS grid, Python, R and other data science tools. 

In order to be successful in this position, we expect you to have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, OR a minimum of 8 additional years work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must have at least 5-10 years experience in data modeling and database design including both relational and data mart/data warehouse database design, breadth and depth in established and emerging data technologies.
  • Able to create standard common business vocabulary, express strategic data requirements, outline high level integrated designs to meet system and application-level requirements, and align with LGY’s strategy and business architecture.
  • Able to work and communicate with Solution Architects, System Developers, Data Modelers, DBAs. 
  • Experience with SQL server and Oracle database.
  • Experience with ETL - SSIS SQL, Azure Data Factory.
  • Data lake (Delta Lake or equivalent), Parquet, Spark, and other big data technology experience.
  • Real-time data streaming  (Kafka or similar).
  • Analytics model deployment architecture with serverless compute.
  • Containerized deployment model with Kubernetes management.
  • Must be able to use a computer. 
  • Must be able to communicate both verbally and in written form.
  • Must be able to obtain a government security clearance.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting.

Desired / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal organizations.
  • Prefer at least 5+ years expertise in the following sectors is required: housing and mortgage finance, Federal credit programs, and government benefit program.
  • Experience with cloud products and services, SaaS/PaaS implementations in the Federal environment.
  • Experience with Agile methodology and Scrum approach. 
  • Experience with electronic health record centric applications.
  • HL7 and other relevant health data exchange standards.
  • Prefer experience with VA specific technologies such as:  VA Corporate data warehouse, VX130, basecamp, data object exchange; VA Enterprise data warehouse; VA active directory integration; VA Enterprise Cloud  (VAEC) infrastructure and network design; VISTA.
  • Prefer experience with Cerner Millennium and/or Cerner HealthIntent suite.
