Get to Know Data Engineering at Stash

Our Data Engineering team has built an outstanding modern data platform, and we are enthusiastic about implementing various enhancements, with a focus on tools related to data quality and governance. As a Data Engineer, your role will be to enhance our data platform collaboratively with the team. Additionally, you will actively contribute to maintaining existing ETL pipelines. At Stash, as a data-driven organization, we understand the pivotal role of the data platform in our overall framework. You'll have the opportunity to influence the company's OKRs by aligning with the data needs of teams such as data science, marketing, fraud, and backend. We actively engage with cutting-edge technologies in the big data space and seek individuals who share our enthusiasm for staying at the forefront of these advancements.

Our Tech Stack: Spark, Scala, Python, dbt, Airflow, Kafka, AWS EMR, Hive, Redshift, Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, Looker, DynamoDB, GibHub Actions, Terraform. We always strive to choose the best tools for the job!

What You’ll Do

  • Design, implement and manage large-scale, high performance data pipelines for various data stakeholders, including but not limited to data science, marketing teams. 
  • Monitor and maintain data pipelines, ensuring consistent availability and high-quality data.
  • Participate actively in technical discussions with team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Optimize data access and consumption for our business and product colleagues
  • Apply industry best practices and standards to ensure optimal development, test automation, CI/CD, and documentation.

Who We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of professional experience working in a data engineering environment, especially using spark, AWS, hadoop, hive etc.
  • Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language (Scala, Java, Python or equivalent)
  • Good understanding of databases
  • BS / MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • You have built large-scale data products and understand the tradeoffs made when building these features
  • You have a deep understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms
  • You have an excellent knowledge of distributed computing frameworks such as Hadoop MapReduce, Spark.
  • You have a strong knowledge of following AWS infrastructure - EMR, S3, Redshift
  • You have strong understanding of data quality, governance
  • You are a team player, self-driven, highly motivated individual who loves to learn new things

Salary Range: $113,923 - $170,884

The base salary range represents the reasonably anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience and competencies, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data for companies of our size and industry.
