This is a new team in Reddit ads. The team’s mission is to build the ML infrastructures to enable the next generation of ML technologies in Reddit ads. This team consists of backend engineers and machine learning engineers, and will work closely with ML teams such as Ads ML foundation, Ads Product ML solution, and Ads Optimization to build and productionize high-impact ML technologies and solutions.

Some example projects that the team will own:

• Scale our model & feature serving service to support serving large-size models and large amounts of features with high QPS and low latency.
• Scale our training infrastructure to support training large-size models with high training data volume and fast training speed
• Design, build and improve general feature framework to support efficient feature management, configurable auto-feature computation with low delay and high reliability
• Design, build and improve batch model computation framework to support large-scale offline inference jobs with SOTA model architectures.
• Design, build and improve real-time training & serving solutions to improve the freshness of our features and models. 

Your Responsibilities:

• Lead, hire, and grow a high-caliber team of backend engineers and machine learning engineers
• Develop, drive, and execute the technical vision and roadmap for the ads ML infrastructure team
• Work with ML teams to enable ML innovations and build SOTA ML solutions for Reddit ads
• Be responsible of building Reddit Ads’ next generation of ML infrastructure
• Coach and mentor engineers on the team to further their professional development
• Set and enforce a high-quality bar for code, system design, and verbal/written communication
• Be a strong mentor and cross-functional advocate for your team

Who You Might Be:

• 6+ years of experience building ML infrastructures to support large-scale ML models & solutions
• 2+ years of experience tech leading or managing engineering team
• Passion for growing people and building team
• Strong track record of defining direction, driving execution, and delivering impacts for a team 
• Effective communicator who can translate complex technical concepts into simple ideas depending on the audience.
• Experience with Ads business domain is a big plus

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including, skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.

The base pay range for this position is: $198,200 - $297,300.
