In this role:
The Lead Data Governance Specialist will assist in the expansion and operation of Clearcover’s Data Governance Program. Emphasis will be placed on user adoption, data usage, data quality, data lineage, and defining data governance policies and processes. This role collaborates with all data domains at Clearcover to ensure data integrity and quality standards are met via the standardization of information through best practices.

What will you do?

• Develop the Data Steward capability, ensuring all business areas are properly represented in the Data Stewardship community
• Responsible for data quality and accuracy across all data domains
• Partner with data professionals and business users to expand and maintain the Enterprise Business Glossary, data dictionary, and data lineage metadata.
• Coordinate tasks in our Jira backlog, to ensure data governance capabilities are delivered
• Promote data standards and best practices that fulfill Clearcover data policies
• Ensure alignment with existing data protection and privacy policies and processes.
• Provide operational reporting and metrics to the Data Governance Council
• Develop an incident resolution and problem management framework for data issues
• Lead projects or have accountability for ongoing activities and objectives

What do you need?

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or other quantitative discipline with a focus on data usage is required
• 5+ years working in data-related fields with a focus on data quality
• 3+ years working in Data Governance or Data Stewardship roles
• 2+ years with project leadership responsibilities
• Experience configuring and using data observability and catalog tools
• Experience with various aspects of the data environment including data architecture, data engineering, data analysis, ETL / ELT, SQL, cloud data warehousing and storage
• Experience with data profiling and defining data quality rules and checks
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff
• Detail oriented and well-organized
• Ability to routinely interact with multiple levels of the organization including the executive level
• Knowledge of auto insurance is beneficial
• Data Quality or Business Analyst experience is beneficial
