About Internal Audit

Summary

Join a group of inquisitive, specialized, inspiring Data Scientists who are dedicated to transforming the traditional auditing processes with big data and advanced analytics! Our team is ahead of the curve in creating audit use cases using the latest AI and Machine Learning techniques (NLP, COR, RPA, Neural Networks, Graph, etc.) for risk identification and remediation. As a Data Science team member, you'll have the opportunity to use, develop, and research algorithms to monitor risk behaviors, detect anomalies, and uncover hidden patterns and risk themes. Additionally, as we move to digitize, automate several IAD processes and bring a modernized experience to our customers, we are also seeking to expand upon our automation products, begin our risk and operational data acquisition journey and build an internal website to support our needs.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to oversee and plan for data analytics objectives supporting independent projects (e.g., audit engagement, ongoing assurance report)

  • Lead data science staff during engagements

  • Design and autonomously execute complex data analytics objectives based on defined or undefined requirements

  • Assess suitable data sources and data quality for fitness of use

  • Review technical documentation and ability to produce quality audit work paper on delivery of data analytics objectives

  • Effectively communicate test results/issues/risk themes to internal and external audiences

  • Conduct peer reviews and provide effective challenge to overall data analytics approach

  • Continuously improve analytics approach to support to auditors in performing risk assessment of business activities, exposures, and the materiality of loss

  • Provide coaching/feedback to audit staff

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field

  • 4+ years of experience in Credit Risk, Fraud Risk, Marketing Analytics, Optimization, Operations Analytics, Modeling/Data Science or related. 

Preferred Qualifications

If we had our say, we’d also look for:

  • Experience in web development, Blue Prism or related BOT technology

  • Master's Degree in Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field  

  • Certifications: CAP, Six Sigma, STEM, Business, Risk, or Audit related certifications, AWS, machine learning, data visualization related certifications
