Blue Orange Digital is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join our talented multi-disciplinary team. We build scalable production data analytics platforms for our clients that incorporate machine learning to solve business problems. Blue Orange Digital works across multiple industries, including Insurance, Real Estate, Retail, and Financial Services, among others. This role provides an exciting set of experiences across a wide range of domains.

Your primary focus will be working with our clients to build production-grade Tensorflow and XGBoost models on a scalable modern data stack within GCP. You will work on large-scale time-series and NLP problems within the insurance space. Blue Orange engineers naturally have a need to learn, improve and innovate. They have a large impact on the clients and projects that they work on.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Build scalable production machine learning models and systems using large structured and unstructured datasets
  • Work independently on the delivery ML solutions and collaborate with a team of highly skilled ML Engineers to constantly improve the team’s performance and the product.
  • Distill informal customer requirements into ML problem definitions, dealing with ambiguity and competing objectives.
  • Architect, build, and maintain a modern, scalable data stack on GCP
  • Conduct data exploration, analysis, and proof of concept model development
  • Build models using state-of-the-art methods in NLP and time-series forecasting

Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of experience in a Machine Learning Engineer role delivering production ML solutions.
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Math or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Advanced experience in Python with an excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms
  • Knowledge of Dagster, BigQuery, Vertex AI, GCP, Terraform, Spark, Kubernetes
  • Experience with advanced statistical modeling, especially probabilistic programming
  • Experience developing and designing scalable distributed systems with a deep understanding of object-oriented design, modern program languages, and design patterns.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with engineers, product managers, data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.
  • Interacts with others using sound judgment, good humor, and consistent fairness in a fast-paced environment

Compensation:

140,000 - 175,000 USD Annually
