VMware AI Labs focuses on building differentiated technologies in AI, Generative AI, and adjacent systems. Advanced development (xLabs) efforts focuses on near-term goals to advance VMware’s relevance in AI and Generative AI. I lead the Americas engineering team focused on near-term goals to advance VMware’s relevance in AI and Generative AI.
This position will be a contributor role for an existing early innovation project which has received extremely positive feedback from stakeholders including the CTO. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with other world class innovators and understand the dynamics of building new technology in a ‘startup like’ context within a large and mature company. The project has great visibility across the company with upcoming showcases to the industry.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
Within your first 6 months
Work closely with our UI/UX experts, designers, and product managers to define the technical vision for an ML based security copilot
Gain a basic understanding of some key VMware technologies and domains by attending internal training, reading technical material, and having conversations with peers and team members.
Collaborate with backend engineers to create easily consumable APIs for your interfaces to consume
Work with stakeholders and other team members to deliver and operate large scale, ML platform for anomaly detection
Review others’ work and share knowledge.
Contribute to product direction and design discussions.
Gain a deeper understanding of NSX, LLMs and security alerting procedures.

The successful candidate will be expected to code, perform code reviews and work closely with the product team. Additionally, the successful candidate will be able to communicate clearly with design, engineering and product in order to realize a delightful experience for our users.

For US based candidates, the annual pay range (OTE for commissioned roles; Salary for other roles) for this position is: $116,000 - $277,000. The actual offer will be based on the role, location, and individual candidate experience. Bonus, commission, and/or equity may be eligible for this position.
