The GitHub Product Operations team serves the Product Management team by helping them to understand customer needs, build roadmaps, and launch products while operating at scale. We build tools, run programs, and connect cross-functional teams around the world that enable GitHub to deliver value faster and more consistently to millions of developers.

We are looking for an Operations Analyst to join our Product Operations team. You will play a crucial role in optimizing and streamlining business processes to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness. This is made possible by leveraging Product, Sales, and People data to identify trends and derive insights to support strategic decision-making. The Operations Analyst acts as a liaison supporting cross-functional team execution in contributing to the overall success and growth of the organization.


We are currently hiring for multiple focus areas:

  • Business Operations focused on budget, vendor, and resource management
  • Strategic Operations focused on OKR analysis and insights supporting Product teams


Responsibilities

As an Operations Analyst you will be focused on driving efficiency and operational rigor in execution by providing standard reporting and ad hoc analysis to support the Product team. The role will also support an assortment of data projects to deliver dashboards and scorecards as needed.

  • OKR and KPI Insights - assist Product Leadership team with insights into performance trends relative to team objectives and tease out underlying drivers to enable course corrections.
  • Operational Analytics - collect, analyze, and interpret process data that covers the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Build reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analysis for headcount, budget, etc. and present key findings to leadership and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Data Driven Process Improvement - evaluate existing business processes and workflows leveraging data to identify opportunities for improvement with fact based recommendations.
  • Analyze market trends and industry benchmarks to provide broader insights into Product improvement opportunities and challenges.
  • Data Project Management - Collaborate across teams to build and deliver small data projects to Product stakeholders while managing timelines, deliverables, to ensure successful completion.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in business analysis, process improvement, and data analysis
  • 2+ years experience in data visualization tools and business intelligence software
  • Experience using data to inform business decisions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Project management experience is a plus.


Compensation Range

USD $61,300.00 - USD $162,500.00 /Yr.

In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.

These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
