Who You Are:

    • Getty is embarking on its next wave of innovation in visual storytelling and how to put the flawless image or video in our customer’s hands, be it for a society-changing headline or a brand’s next big campaign—truly moving the world with images !
    • We are looking for a curious hardworking and innovative Data Analyst to uncover customer insights through data to optimize Getty Images search experiences for our customers. This is a high-impact position where you will guide product strategy through data insights and experimentation. Your vision to extract insights about our customers to support data-informed decisions will affect over 50 million visitors from almost every country in the world, with a direct tie to Getty Images' revenue.
    • In this position, you will be responsible for performing business analyses and providing useful insights and recommendations to optimize impact within the customer search experience and business operations. The role will work closely with internal clients to identify analytical requirements, clearly articulating data-driven results sourced from multiple systems.

Your Next Challenge:

    • Provide analysis of data to answer specific questions related to business value and operations, focusing on user impact.
    • Resolve sound statistical methods to find and interpret data related to our internal metadata product and/or search results.
    • Design experiments to generate practical insights and recommendations.
    • Create dashboards to monitor metrics.
    • Develop and propose new metrics.
    • Work across the global Search organization to make practical intelligence available to business partners. Translate analysis into business recommendations.
    • Report and present project progress and final findings in a clear, engaging, and distributable way for monitoring ongoing performance and stand-alone investigations.
    • Work with the other analytics team to implement and document standard methodologies related to data gathering, cleansing, analysis and reporting. 
    • Be comfortable, or swiftly become comfortable- working across multiple platforms using Pytho, SQL, Looker using your general familiarity with data wrangling, and sophisticated joins as the data infrastructure and tooling is constantly evolving. 

What You’ll Need:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field (e.g., Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science) or equivalent experience
    • 3+ years of related work experience, in a quantitative role (business analyst or other)
    • Strong analytical abilities and quantitative skills
    • Advanced Excel and SQL required; experience with SQL Workbench, Adobe Omniture/Google Analytics a plus
    • Basic programming/scripting ability (e.g. Python)
    • Gathering and interpreting data
    • Data manipulation and visualization
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to explain advanced concepts and results in a simple way, communicating crisply and optimally with audiences of different backgrounds at all levels of the company
    • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally within a global team
    • Work well within deadlines

Mental and Physical Demands:

    • Frequent communication with others to exchange information.
    • Frequent sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing; Time of each will vary.
    • Constant operation of computer and frequent usage of other office machinery, including (but not limited to) calculator, copy machine, computer printer, etc.
    • Frequent repetition of motions and gestures that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. (Required)
Due to the current conditions and impact of Covid-19, this key position will initially work from home, until such a time we open our offices. At the time of the local office opening, employees and managers will partner to determine the work site location in line with our Flexible working policy.
