The Search Relevance Team is looking for talented engineers to help us expand beyond the front page and better connect users to the specific content they care about. The quantity and diversity of content on Reddit is massive, so we're looking for people with a background in data engineering or search engineering to help us scale existing and deliver new search experiences. You'll be working with a variety of internal teams across Engineering, Machine Learning, and NLP to revolutionize content discovery on the internet.

Responsibilities: 

• Architecting and implementing indexing pipelines from various data sources into search infrastructure at Reddit.
• Creating cross-functional partnerships to help scale existing and new uses of the search platform across the engineering organization.
• Participating in the full development cycle for new search features.
• Collaborating across disciplines to find technical solutions to complex challenges, including state of the art, high throughput indexing and determining the optimal representation of all data available in our indices to deliver highly relevant results.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Search, Data, or Software Engineer developing production code.
• A strong understanding of data infrastructure and streaming technologies.
• Experience with Solr or similar search technologies.
• Experience working with large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with setting up, maintaining, and debugging production systems and infrastructure
