Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Senior Data Scientist based in the US (citizen or established US legal entity) with proven experience in building credit models using transaction data for retail banking and an ability to analyze inflows, outflows, and transaction narratives to provide a holistic view of customer accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of models that predict financial hardships and can generate financial nudges based on customer spending behaviors.
- Utilize data techniques for crime detection.
- Design, implement, monitor, and manage risk assessment models able to work with transaction-based data to identify patterns and anomalous behaviors aimed at improving Gini coefficients.
- And other requests as directed by your manager.
Requirements:
- 7+ years working as a Data Scientist or similar role.
- Proven experience in 1 of the following, up to all 3:
- Risk assessment
- Money laundering
- Anomaly detection modeling, such as Isolation Forest
- Proven experience in building credit models using transaction data for retail banking, with an ability to analyze inflows, outflows, and transaction narratives to provide a holistic view of customer accounts.
- Similarly proven crime detection, such as money laundering, under tight timeframes.
- Strong proficiency in PySpark and familiarity with both traditional data warehouses like Redshift and modern data platforms like Databricks on AWS.
- Demonstrated capability in machine learning algorithms, especially XGBoost and Isolation Forest, for risk assessment and anomaly detection in financial contexts.
- Experience with transaction monitoring systems, including developing and adjusting rule-based triggers and integrating machine learning insights to enhance detection capabilities.
- Strong ability to deliver meaningful insights into data.
- Gifted technical communicator – able to speak meaningfully to non-technical audiences.
- Well-practiced live presentation skills to executive and C-level clients – 3+ years’ experience.
- Adept client engagement skills as a consultant and advisor.
- Bachelor's degree or greater in Data Science or similar.
- A strong propensity for working in a Team as a prime specialist Data Scientist contributor.
Preferred qualifications:
- 3+ years leading client delivery Data Science projects and engagements.
- Advanced technical soft degrees are a plus.
- Pyspark and/or Databricks certification.
Salary: $155,400 - $168,000 per year ($12,950 - $14,000 per month) - USD
