Yelp’s products are used by millions of people every day. Trust & Safety at Yelp means protecting users from misinformation, keeping user accounts secure, and investigating fraud at every turn with a team of fraud experts. We pride ourselves on solving problems holistically using machine learning and heuristics to improve the quality and trustworthiness of Yelp’s content.
As a Trust and Safety PM, you will be working with a small engineering team that ships products to keep Yelp the most trusted platform for local content. You will work with internet sleuths and fraud analysts to uncover credit-card fraudsters, fake review scammers, and botnets stealing account credentials, then rally a team of engineers and machine learning experts to protect Yelp from the worst of the worst. Yelp succeeds only with the trust of consumers -- trust is our core asset.
Where you come in
- Dig through data to prioritize the most impactful risks to Yelpers’ trust.
- Discover emerging trends in site abuse alongside our fraud analysts.
- Digest complicated problems into clearly framed measurable projects.
- Work with engineers to plan/build/test/release/measure abuse detection features.
- Coordinate incident response for spikes in content spam or fraud transactions.
- Obsess over metrics, risk monitoring, and benchmarking our performance.
- Think broadly and deeply to solve problems across a wide range of engineering teams by partnering with other internal teams.
What it Takes to Succeed
- You have several years of experience in product management with major results under your belt. Trust & Safety product experience is a plus.
- Investigator instinct, sifting through symptoms to find the root cause.
- A passion to fight against spammers, scammers, and internet bad-guys.
- You have a bias towards action and know how to make things happen.
- You have the ability to communicate with many stakeholders across different parts of the organization.
- You've got a solid technical understanding that earns you the respect of engineers.
- You’re someone who plays well with others- you enjoy sharing knowledge and ideas with others as much as learning from them.
