About the Team:

The mission of the business strategy & analytics team is to ensure the entire company understands business performance and trends, and to empower all business teams to make good decisions with data. This is a team that will bridge the gap between Ads data science and stakeholders by improving reporting, monitoring ads dashboards, scoping analysis, and QA’ing new event structures. Scribd is seeking an enthusiastic senior product analyst contractor to help create and scale out our advertising strategy and reporting alongside product, design and engineering teams.

About You:

You are a curious person who is highly analytical, love solving ambiguous business problems through exploratory analysis. You have a growth mentality and are excited by a fast paced environment. You have great business intuition that helps you create actionable insights, focusing on user experience, impact, and learning from data.

You Will:

    • Set up our ads reporting strategy in partnership with the other data scientists and data engineering by clearly stating requirements and data pipeline needs.
    • Continuously monitor progress against our OKRs and make adjustments as new information comes in. 
    • Frequent communication with stakeholders on how we’re progressing against our goals, learnings we have, risks we foresee and where we need support from the organization.
    • Design A/B tests and pre-post analyses to understand the impact of feature launches
    • Help improve and expand on our analytics tracking by specifying new events and QAing once they go live.
    • Build dashboards in Looker to provide insight into ad performance and product engagement.
    • Partner closely with product and design to scope in-depth analyses to inform product strategy.

You Have:

    • 3-5 years experience with quantitative data analysis or business intelligence. 
    • Highly analytical mindset with demonstrated ability to work through complex, ambiguous problems using data.
    • Ability to work independently and with a team on multiple projects
    • Understanding of SQL, familiarity with Excel and BI tools.
    • Plus if you have experience with Google Ad Manager (GAM)
    • Plus if you have experience with Looker.
    • Plus if you have digital advertising experience
    • BA/BS degree in math, stats, econ, physics or equivalent experience.
Compensation & Benefits
• This is a 6 month contract with commitment of ~25 hours per week with an anticipated hourly rate of $65-$90 an hour.
