Responsibilities:

Partner with Engineering leaders to frame team and platform vision with internal stakeholders, building consensus on direction of technologies that power analytics, reporting, AI, and data applications across the company. You will be responsible for defining how data becomes part of people’s daily activities at Dataminr, as well as the roadmap for how we get there.

  • Deliver reporting and analytics products for teams across the company: Global event detection & alerting operations, R&D,  automation and human-in-the-loop operations, both internal & client facing product teams, go to market org and more.
  • Establish the vision for the next generation of Dataminr’s data products. Challenge the status quo and inspire teammates to think outside the box.
  • Drive the data analytics platforms through key strategic data governance, regionalization, and platform scalability initiatives.  
  • Track and assess stakeholder feedback to inform prioritization of future roadmap opportunities for the data engineering team
  • Drive alignment on roadmap prioritization across other Product, Engineering, Operational, Executive and GTM teams
  • Refining requirements and scope of asks from other Product, Operational & GTM teams
  • Ensure the Data Engineering team is aware of initiatives other engineering and product teams are driving that may impact the team
  • Represent and advocate for Data Engineering team priorities and dependencies of other engineering and product teams (sprint, quarterly, and yearly planning rhythms)

What you've done before:

You have at least 5 years of experience in a data centric technical role (ex: data analyst, data engineer, data scientist) and have transitioned into a product manager. You have driven roadmaps for technical teams and built consensus on direction across an organization. Demonstrated excellent prioritization skills and experience communicating hard tradeoff decisions to cross functional stakeholders. You can represent and advocate for Data Engineering team priorities and dependencies of other engineering and product teams.

What success looks like in your first 6 months:

  • Drive tracking, grooming, communication and expectation management of the Data Engineering team’s backlog and roadmap.
  • Partner with Engineering leaders to frame team and platform vision with internal stakeholders, building consensus on direction
  • Track and assess stakeholder feedback to inform prioritization of future roadmap opportunities for the data engineering team.
  • Drive alignment on roadmap prioritization across other Product, Engineering, Operational and GTM teams.
  • Refining requirements and scope of asks from other Product, Operational & GTM teams
  • Ensure the Data Engineering team is aware of initiatives other engineering and product teams are driving that may impact the team
  • Represent and advocate for Data Engineering team priorities and dependencies of other engineering and product teams (sprint, quarterly, and yearly planning rhythms).
  • In partnership with engineering leaders - communicate the team’s work via executive/leadership briefs - ensuring its value, status, and alignment to strategic business goals is well understood across the organization.
