Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager for managing the Professional Services (PS) projects for Data Services practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, particularly within the realm of data projects including deploying Data warehouse and Data Lakes on public cloud (Azure, AWS or GCP), and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams. As the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing detailed tasks, monitoring RAG (Red, Amber, Green) status for scope, schedule, budget, and risks/issues, and implementing detailed tracking mechanisms using agile methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage PS engagements for Data Services practice from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with client objectives and expectations.
· Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
· Utilize agile methodologies to implement detailed task tracking, manage priorities, and adapt to changing project requirements.
· Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, developers, and stakeholders, to drive project execution and deliverables.
· Monitor and report RAG status for scope, schedule, budget, and risks/issues, providing timely updates to stakeholders and senior management.
· Proactively identify project risks and issues, develop mitigation plans, and escalate as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
· Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the project team.
· Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as the primary point of contact for project-related inquiries and updates.
· Conduct regular project reviews and retrospectives to assess performance, identify lessons learned, and drive process improvements.
· Mentor and coach junior project management staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and capabilities.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; PMP certification preferred.
· Proven experience managing complex data projects within a Professional Services or consulting environment.
· Strong understanding of agile methodologies, with hands-on experience using agile project management tools and techniques.
· Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
· Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
· Experience with data management, analytics, and business intelligence technologies is highly desirable.
· Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and data-related tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau) is a plus.
· Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time, within budget, and with high quality.
