We are seeking a Senior Data Architect to join our data team in building out our best in class data platforms at Care.com. The ideal candidate has a data architecture background and a passion for designing mature, sustainable data ecosystems. They understand that a strong data platform is the foundation of a company culture of data-driven decision making. We’d love to talk to you if you have a background in data architecture, data governance, master data management, data engineering, and data warehousing. This role requires close partnership with our application and product teams. Our data tech stack includes Snowflake, Kafka streams, S3, Splunk, and Tableau.
What Your Days Will be Like:
The Senior Data Architect will be a principal designer and champion for our data management practice at Care.com and will work closely with engineering and product leaders to enable data trust and data stability in our rapidly changing, high-growth company.
The ideal candidate has a passion for data governance and process maturity. S/he will demonstrate strong business judgment and be able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Be Working On:
- Collaborate with Data Architects and Data Engineers working on cross functional projects across the company
- Enable single definition of truth in collaboration with application leaders by establishing data governance practices
- Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to ensure the highest quality platform and content
- Partner with analytics and data warehouse leaders to ensure data is both stable and actionable
- Participate in and lead design reviews
- Identify data sources and maintain data architecture diagrams
- Create and maintain data roadmaps
- Ensure team is incorporating best practices for security, performance, and data privacy into deliverables
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- 10+ years prior work experience with the design and deployment of data solutions
- 5+ years technical experience in a data role
- Experience establishing data management, data governance
- Familiarity with microservices architecture
- Analytical and conceptual abilities and a problem solving attitude
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members at different level of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to maintain performance level in a fast-paced agile environment with changing priorities and deadlines
