KCL is building an industry-leading data ecosystem that drives insight generation and operational efficiencies. We are looking for a hands-on, motivated analyst to join our team. You’ll play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization by providing insights, dashboards and regular performance updates.

About the position. As a Business Insights Analyst, you will work closely with stakeholders across KCL to turn our data into actionable insights. Leveraging tools and skills like SQL, Looker, and Google Sheets, you will transform complex data into concise and clear takeaways. Strong storytelling and communication skills are a must. Our ideal candidate must have a passion for supporting teams, solving business problems using data, and making complex, technical ideas accessible. 

This is a full-time remote position with a Monday-Friday work week. With several daily reports due before noon Mountain Time each day, an early start, no later than 7am MT is required for this position. 

Responsibilities

    • Providing analytical support and insights to cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, product development, and content.
    • Daily tracking and reporting of content and marketing KPIs, including daily visitors, views, earnings and more.
    • Contributing to traffic and revenue growth through effective communication of historical performance and opportunities.
    • Performing routine and ad hoc analsis to inform business decisions, including developing dashboards, reports, and visualizations that effectively communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
    • Evaluating post-level, department-level, and channel-level performance, analyzing current strategies, identifying opportunities for growth or efficiency, and making recommendations to optimize both organic and paid strategies.
    • Ensuring a positive end-user experience by building solutions to deliver consistent and easy access to data needed to inform day-to-day and broader strategic decisions.
    • Maintaining and evolving existing processes for gathering, summarizing, and distributing relevant insights, including working closely with our data engineering team to build automated solutions for routine needs.
    • Effectively managing your time to build and deliver high-quality, consistent results on time.
    • Creating and maintaining clear documentation of sources, nuances in data collection/interpretation, and methodologies.
    • Additional responsibilities as the department scales.

About You

    • 1-3 years experience in Business Insights or related role.
    • Working knowledge of SQL and high-level proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel.
    • Basic understanding of dashboard design and data visualization best practices.
    • Comfort with data and analytics and a passion to grow your skills.
    • Some experience in both analytics and visualization tools; experience with Looker is a plus.
    • Ability to maintain good documentation and record-keeping.
    • Technically fearless, driven self-learner, and curious.
    • Excellent project management and organizational skills; experience with Jira is a plus.
    • Strong storyteller; exceptional communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to think critically; must be solutions-oriented with a passion for problem-solving.
    • Experience in managing multiple projects and priorities.
    • Adaptable and able to work both independently and with a team.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and an avid team player who enjoys working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to prioritize, work cooperatively, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
