At Anvyl we are on a mission to make bringing products to life easier. We believe everyone should be able to make the physical products they want to see in the world and no one should be left out because finding suppliers, scaling up production, or paying for goods is too hard. So we’re building software where brands manage suppliers, oversee production, and track in-depth product data from procurement to delivery of inbound goods. It saves hours a day of manual work, reduces supply chain costs, and provides actionable data on supplier activity throughout sourcing, production, and the product lifecycle. These tools fuel and empower the most important relationships you have - the ones with your suppliers.

We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our data team at Anvyl! In this role, you'll partner closely with our Product & Engineering team to help make better decisions that power our business and drive customer growth. You will implement a modern data stack to guide product development and business-critical decisions. You are highly focused on impact and have the skill to cut through messy data. You should demonstrate curiosity, data fluency, and a collaborative work ethic. You would be reporting directly to the Data & Analytics Lead.

Our data stack: Fivetran, dbt, BigQuery, and Looker

What You'll Do

  • Own analytics across our product development work streams from metric definition and data instrumentation design to reporting and analysis.
  • Design and build data models with a bias towards reusability and self-service using dbt and other tools
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and other stakeholders to define and measure success criteria
  • Build and maintain a culture of autonomous data access across the company
  • Determine how to integrate new data sources into our data warehouse
  • Work in a lean and agile way, focusing on outcomes over granular tasks and continuously assessing tradeoffs between precision and actionability
  • Assist with machine learning initiatives (the sky’s the limit!) so that our users can unleash the full power of their data

What We’d Love to See:

  • You have 3+ years working in the data analytics space in a role that lies between data and business (i.e. Analytics Engineer, Data Analyst, BI Engineer, Data Engineer, etc)
  • You are experienced in maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and integrating disparate, often times messy, data sources
  • You are an expert at data wrangling and can easily handle complex datasets by writing performant SQL (i.e. complex joins, CTE, query optimization, etc) to create fact and dimension tables
  • You have experience with data warehousing concepts (i.e. Bigquery, Redshift, Snowflake, etc)
  • You have experience with at least one BI tool (i.e. Looker, Tableau, etc)
  • You can identify gaps in the data and can work with Engineering and internal stakeholders to fill in those gaps (i.e. adding tracking, writing custom ETL jobs, etc)
  • You are proficient in a scripting language (Python preferred)
  • You apply software engineering best practices to your data workflow (i.e. code review, version control, testing, etc)
  • You are comfortable owning your project timeline and prioritizing tasks with user and business impact in mind
  • You work well collaboratively, both in a technical and cross-functional context.
  • You are curious and excited to learn new methods to solve problems

What we value:

  • Desire to learn and grow
  • Bias towards action
  • Team-oriented attitude, you derive joy from seeing others succeed
  • Enthusiasm for, and interest in, how technology impacts the physical world we live in
  • Great restaurant recommendations!

We are a team that believes in cooperation, learning, quality, and putting our people and customers up front. We are a small company offering large company benefits - health, dental, and vision offerings, 401k availability, and many more perks. We are a remote company and want to make sure our employees have the flexibility to do their work where they feel best, and know that they can step away to recharge with our unlimited paid time away.

We are a diverse team spanning all professions, cultures, races, gender, and orientations. Our teammates are located across the country as well as in China, giving us a truly global footprint. We enjoy spending time together in person when - especially if there is Korean BBQ - or having a group brain-storming session on the next product innovation.
