Analytics Engineer

The Marwood Group is a healthcare advisory services firm headquartered in New York City with offices in Washington, DC and London. The Healthcare Advisory Group advises and consults with the firm’s private equity and corporate clients on healthcare policy, strategy, and market analysis issues. Areas of focus include Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, worker’s compensation, and clinical compliance. Marwood operates at the intersection of Wall Street and Washington, with experienced professionals from top banking, consulting, and healthcare operations firms, as well as senior political and governmental positions.


Marwood is looking to enhance its data analysis and reporting capabilities using cloud data solutions. We’re looking for an experienced analytics engineer to serve as a key contributor to Marwood’s evolving data infrastructure.


The Analytics Engineer will play a key role in shaping the future of Marwood’s analytic capabilities. You will work with proprietary healthcare data sets and leverage your technical expertise to serve as an analytics thought partner to Marwood healthcare subject matter experts in order to develop data-driven insights that will inform leading healthcare corporations and investors.


Some of the things you'll do:

  • Expand our data warehouse with data that is clean and ready for analysis.
  • Follow and improve processes for data quality and reporting.
  • Help improve the internal data management practices.
  • Analyze data and create dashboards and reports for client engagements.
  • Work closely with in-house healthcare industry experts to create new analyses and tools to inform leading healthcare organizations and investors.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the US healthcare services and related data.



We're looking for someone who has experience with:

  • 3 - 7 years of professional experience.
  • 3+ years in an analytics role.
  • Working with SQL to generate business insights and drive better organizational decision making.
  • Data cleansing and dealing with data from many disparate sources.
  • SQL-based data warehouse modeling using tools such as dbt or Dataform.
  • Git and version control.
  • Cloud based MPP data warehouses such as Redshift or Snowflake.
  • Business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Chartio, Mode, or Tableau.
  • Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills, including communicating complex technical topics.


It's a plus if you have experience with:

  • US healthcare services (providers, payers, or related healthcare dynamics).
  • HIPAA and healthcare data environments.
  • Knack, Quickbase, or similar low-code database solutions.
  • Airflow, Prefect, or other data workflow and orchestration tools.
  • AWS or other Infrastructure-as-a-service environments.
  • Python and python based data tooling, such as Pandas and Singer.
