OVERVIEW
We are looking for an analytics engineer at Modern Treasury. This person will ensure our data infrastructure empowers the company to make better decisions with data.
We are looking for someone who is excited about building a data function from the ground up as our first data and analytics hire. Most importantly, this person should be able to deeply understand our business and craft a common language for how we talk about it. They will work closely with different functions within the company to translate business questions into questions to ask of our data. They should love munging through data and thrive in ambiguity, as we won’t always find the right answer on the first try.
They should also be comfortable with basic data engineering, i.e. working with Fivetran and writing SQL/LookML. We currently leverage Mozart Data for our data stack, which bundles together Fivetran for ETL and Snowflake for our data warehouse. We also use Amplitude for user behavior analytics and Looker for business intelligence
You may be a good fit if:
You are a data generalist and are comfortable working across the data stack. While we're not looking for you to be a data engineer building new technology, you will need to be able to use tools like Fivetran and Mozart to connect our data sources and write transforms. Must be proficient in SQL.
You have a track record of driving business results through data insights and cross-functional collaboration
You thrive in a cross-functionally collaborative environment and are comfortable working with stakeholders from areas like marketing, sales, revenue operations, finance, and engineering
You know when to rely on intuition and when to rely on data. You are able to balance finding a perfect answer vs. finding a good enough answer that allows you to figure out where to go deeper
You are an excellent verbal and written communicator
You are intellectually curious and fascinated by innovative businesses, how they grow, and the technology they need to accelerate that growth
