We are looking for a talented analytics engineer with strong experience managing and maintaining data warehouses to join our data science operations team. Data scientists, analysts and engineers on the DataX team contribute to the backend code that makes all of pymetrics’ machine learning products work efficiently.

As a analytics engineer on the DataX team, you will utilize Python to craft optimal system architecture for model ETL and analytics. You would work with other expert developers to translate SQL into a DBT framework to improve the pymetrics data warehouse to act as a source of truth for all company analytics. You will also work with data scientists, machine learning engineers and researchers to put ideas into production.

We value an ability to communicate with a bright team from varied backgrounds, and the initiative to approach interesting problems independently and with scientific rigor. This role will be based out of our NYC headquarters, but we're open to remote US candidates.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage and maintain the data warehouse
• Craft data logic using SQL and DBT
• Assist in the design of new backend modules that touch the data warehouse
• Automate data refreshes and institute checks for data integrity
• Provide operational assistance to team members on products including AWS Sagemaker and production servers
• Write production-ready code and participate in quality control testing
• Provide expert peer feedback through team meetings and code review
• Collaborate with and train other members of the data science team
• Interact with data scientists, analysts, engineers and product managers on other products implemented at pymetrics, including machine learning, analytics, reporting and data visualization

About you

• 2+ years experience in analytics engineer or database management
• BS in computational field preferred, but other backgrounds acceptable with demonstrated experience
• Experience handling both structured and unstructured data
• Proficiency in Python and core packages
• Expert knowledge of SQL, including optimizing columnar and row-based queries
• Extensive knowledge of programming best practices, including Git and unit testing

• Openness to communication with a remote team, with a willingness to relocate or regularly travel to the NYC metro area after the pandemic
