Analytics Engineer Intern

The role: 

As an Analytics Engineering intern, you will build systems that can model data in a clean, clear way. These will consolidate multiple data sources and enable both internal and external stakeholders to answer questions on an ongoing basis. You may be working on a small, multi-functional team that may include other engineers, a product manager, data scientist and other roles. Success in this role requires the ability to take on challenging problems and design & develop an amazing solution with the mentorship of an experienced team member.

In Your Tool Bag:

  • Solid foundation of SQL skills and understanding of relational and non relational databases
  • Experience with Python
  • A problem solver at heart - you love to stitch together several data sources and build systems that allow users to access consolidated insights in a streamlined and intuitive way
  • Knack for creative problem solving and innovation - you aren’t afraid to explore novel approaches outside of the status quo
  • Passion for tackling challenging and ambiguous problems in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate across a variety of technical and nontechnical audiences 
  • Desire to grow your skills set through collaboration, open communication, direct feedback and knowledge sharing

You have experience with: 

  • Data processing and understand the difference between ETL and ELT
  • Data warehouses (e.g. AWS, Azure, Snowflake) and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Grafana) in either a classroom or hands-on setting

Bonus points: 

  • Experience with Data Build Tool (DBT), Airflow, AWS infrastructure, Terraform
  • Exposure to data modeling, data governance and data quality tools 

Program Eligibility: 

  • In the process of obtaining a Master’s degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, statistics or related technical field
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program at an an accredited university with the intent to return to the degree program upon completion of the internship
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hrs/ week) from May 19, 2025 to August 8, 2025 in the Madison, WI office or Birmingham, AL office, or remotely.
    • Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance available.

Fetch analytics engineering internships pay $40/ hour. Please note: pay is not negotiable.
