Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Data Engineer to join our Colombian team. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in data engineering principles and is eager to contribute to the development and maintenance of our data infrastructure. As an Associate Data Engineer, you will work closely with many cross functional teams to ensure the efficient and effective processing, storage, and retrieval of large volumes of data.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines for efficient data  ingestion and integration from various sources.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data flow and integration into our data warehouse.

    • Support the transformation of raw data into a structured format suitable for analysis and reporting purposes.
    • Help optimize data processing and transformation algorithms to improve efficiency and performance.
    • Experience with ETL generation

    • Assist in database design, implementation, and maintenance, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance.
    • Help optimize database queries and implement necessary indexing and caching strategies.
    • Assist in developing and implementing data quality checks and monitoring processes to ensure accurate and reliable data.
    • Collaborate with the data engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues.

    • Collaborate with other team members to ensure effective communication and alignment on project goals and requirements.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data engineering processes, workflows, and systems.

Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • 0-2 yrs experience in at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python, Java, Scala).
    • 0-2 yrs. experience with data storage, retrieval, and processing technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, AWS)Databricks experience would be a nice to have.
    • Knowledge of data engineering concepts and best practices.
    • Knowledge of data modeling and database design principles.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
    • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
    • Understanding of machine learning concepts and their integration with data pipelines.
    • Previous experience working in a data engineering role or related field.
