As Smartcar’s first BI Analyst, you will have the opportunity to influence the product direction by providing insights from customer behaviors that correlate with high business impact. You’ll build, track, and maintain key performance metrics across engineering, product, and sales. Your valuable insights and research on Smartcar’s products and business will assist in our global expansion.

Key Responsibilities

    • Help define key performance metrics for Smartcar globally.
    • Be hands-on with improving Smartcar’s data quality, KPIs, and overall metrics in addition to creating and maintaining company dashboards.
    • Proactively identify the most impactful opportunities for product development based on user behaviors, needs, and recorded metrics.
    • Support ad-hoc data analysis needs.
    • Partner closely with product, finance, engineering, and sales to perform investigative research and provide actionable insights.
    • Own metrics definitions and dashboards we use to measure the health and success of our products.
    • Present business impacts of findings through sound data-driven recommendations and risk assessments.

Who You Are

    • You have 3 - 8 years of demonstrated ability in a similar BI Analyst or Data Analyst role.
    • You have proven experience as a BI Analyst calculating and aggregating data from multiple sources into dashboards and defining metrics.
    • You have experience with analysis, including crafting success metrics, and presenting findings with clear product recommendations or implications.
    • You have hands-on experience synthesizing insights from data into dashboards using tools such as SQL, Postgres, Redis, Excel/Sheets, Python.
    • You have experience with BI Tools: (Looker, Tableau, Mode, etc.). Metabase experience is a plus.
    • You have strong communication skills and attention to detail.
    • You value building strong relationships with colleagues and partners, as well as the ability to explain sophisticated topics in straightforward terms.
    • A degree in data science, computer science, statistics, economics, mathematics, or a similar quantitative field is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits Package

    • Base salary determined by years of experience: $115,000 - $150,000.
    • Equity.
    • Remote work within the United States.
    • Health, Dental and Vision covered at 90% for all plans and 80% coverage for dependents, which amounts to approximately 11 thousand dollars a year.
    • 401K matching at 4%.
    • Unlimited PTO.
    • Wellness stipend of $50 a month.
    • Cell phone and Internet stipend of $50 a month.
    • $300 yearly learning and development stipend.
    • $350 work-from-home stipend.
    • 8 weeks of 100% paid parental leave with an additional 4 weeks unpaid, 1-week half day ramp back time and a 5 week Factor subscription.

    • You are free to work standard work hours for your time zone.

Interview Steps

    • Intro Call: 30 minute phone call with Steven Stone to learn about your background and determine whether your skill set matches the role.

    • Hiring Manager Video Call: 45 min video call with Joel Cloralt to learn more about your background and for you to ask as many questions as you would like about the role.

    • Take-Home Assignment: You will have 3 days to work on an assignment involving a fictitious scenario -- reviewing information and sharing your findings.

    • Take-Home Assignment Review: Once your challenge is complete you will have a 60 min video call with Joel Cloralt, and Sanketh Katta to present your take-home assignment.

    • Final Stage: This is a 2-part video interview where you will have a 30 minute call to meet 2 members of your team, and a 30 minute behavioral interview with Mathilde Patmon.
