The growth at Udacity and our emphasis on being data driven has created an opportunity for a talented and motivated Business Intelligence Analyst to have an outsized impact in a newly created role. The Udacity Data Team is deployed to inform and empower the business with insights. Reporting to the BI Manager you will help advance that vision, working in a highly collaborative environment of data engineers, data scientists and analysts. You will transform data into insights that drive business value. You’ll play a key role to provide best in class BI solutions, increase the quality and impact of our BI tools, and partner with the full spectrum of business stakeholders to meet their BI needs. Your Responsibilities:

  • Craft compelling visualization stories to draw out business insights and provide actionable recommendations
  • Collaborate both internally, with other data functions, and externally with business partners across the organization
  • Foster a data driven culture with outreach, training, documentation for our current and future BI tools, to drive adoption
  • Work closely with Data Engineering & Analysts to help with the setup of our Data Cataloging solution
  • Operate BI platforms for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies; developing and maintaining protocols accordingly
  • Develop and automate reports, iteratively build and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs

What we value:

  • Bring 2 + years of related professional experience in BI, analytics or data engineering and a team-player attitude. Backend BI platform knowledge is a plus
  • Strong SQL and data visualization skills, including experience with an enterprise saas BI platform. Working knowledge of Amplitude is a plus
  • Effective communication and influence skills with demonstrated success democratizing data and insights
  • You take ownership seriously and hold yourself accountable to always deliver in a reliable manner. You thrive at a fast pace and managing multiple work streams
  • You apply critical thinking and a meticulous tenacity as a passionate problem solver

Pluses:

  • Understanding of Data Cataloging and integration between various data assets
  • You are a curious self-starter who takes charge and flourishes when meeting a challenge.
  • Have a familiarity with aggregating data sources and with scripting tools (i.e. Python, R, Stata) to leverage for integration & automation
  • You enjoy working in a highly dynamic environment where you have a powerful voice and your actions have a significant impact
  • You are excited to ask questions, push boundaries and follow where data leads in pursuit of new opportunities
