What does this team do?
On the Business Intelligence team, we strive to democratize data and deliver analytics that enable our business leaders to achieve our purpose. We seek a strategic thinker with a keen ability to understand business, product, and marketing strategy as well as provide consultative marketing analysis. You'll work with our Motley team of business analysts, data scientists, marketers, and product managers to bring new insights. Your technical aptitude in analytics and data science will be key to creating insightful and effective insights, analysis, and reporting.

We're looking for someone with a proven ability to craft concise, actionable analyses and reports that tell a story about a business area, marketing campaign, or customer segment.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively: Business intelligence Fools are like internal consultants. We help teams across the company do their jobs better by identifying opportunities and informing data-driven decisions. Our analyses are only useful if we collaborate with teams and leaders and communicate the results clearly. While consulting background/experience is not a formal requirement, we expect a consultative mindset and approach to working with stakeholders.
Okay, but what will you actually do?
- Business Intelligence (40%):
- Collaborate and consult with business teams to understand their business strategy, economics, goals, and translate them into data initiatives
- Provide data-informed recommendations with a quantifiable value, to improve marketing campaigns, engagement and member experience
- Monitor key metrics and performance indicators and develop strategies to create meaningful impacts in business performance
- Data Analysis and Reporting (60%):
- Analyze large datasets (hundreds of thousands to millions of records) to derive meaningful insights
- Perform exploratory data analysis to discover new insights and inform strategic initiatives
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that provide data insights to stakeholders
- Communicate complex data insights in a clear and actionable manner
- Proactive reporting that solves reoccurring stakeholder problems
- Data QA and collaboration with Data Engineering for data quality
What do you need to apply?
- Minimum 3-5 years of collaborative data analytics experience delivering insights directly to key stakeholders
- Subscription marketing or direct response marketing analytics experience (affiliate marketing helpful)
- Understand the basics of affiliate marketing & financial products
- Knowledgeable in reporting and data visualization tools like Tableau, Thoughtspot or Power BI
- Experience handling large volumes of Google Analytics web data and email data
- Experience with Google Analytics & advertising platform tracking (UTMs, offline conversions, etc..)
- Intermediate to advanced technical data skills including:
- SQL
- Statistical testing and experiment design (A/B testing)
- Programming experience with Python highly desirable
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business, Marketing or a related field preferred. Additional data-related training or degrees are a plus.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data science. Specific experience using data to inform business decisions that have a measurable impact on business growth.
- Business Acumen: Experience influencing data-informed marketing decisions, improving customer engagement, driving growth in acquisition-related metrics
- Technical Skills/Experience:
- Data Storytelling to deliver clear, actionable insights
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation
- Advanced programming language skills, preferably Python
- Ability to interpret existing complex Python code and SQL scripts
- Github workflow experience
- Data visualization tools such as Tableau, Thoughtspot, PowerBI or similar
- Statistical experiment design and testing including inferential statistics
- Continuous learner keeping up with the latest technical trends in data science

Annual Pay Range
$90,000 - $130,000 USD
