About the Role
Business need
A Data and Reporting Analyst within CE Ops Data team to partner with the Ops teams with a focus on building visualizations and dashboards to provide better insights.
In 2022, there is a need to build reporting across teams with a focus on Performance management, WFM, QA and Content teams. Individual data analysts will also work on reporting needs of service functions. Reporting analysts should be able to build frameworks and larger teams can leverage the same.
Summary
The Reporting/Data Visualization Analyst will work closely with our business and technical teams under the Reporting & Analytics Operations team to deliver reporting solutions. The aim is to provide accurate and high-quality data visualizations and analyses to the CE organization. With this analysis, Kraken can further its mission by making better data-driven decisions. The Reporting/Data Visualization Analyst should possess a strong understanding of data and how best to convey it to a wide range of audiences.
Responsibilities
- Assist in reporting requirements design, reporting development, data validation
- Design, develop, and deploy ETL processes using SQL (Superset)
- Transforming data sets, quantitative and qualitative analysis into compelling visuals
- Creating and editing visual content including maps, charts, and graphs
- Provide Business Intelligence solutions including datasets, analytics, dashboards, and reports to support Kraken CE team in making informed decisions that increase the bottom line through improved quality and services
- Typical assignments encompass working with business analysts and the wider organization to clarify requirements, estimating efforts, writing queries, analyzing data, and developing visualizations
- Facilitate data-driven decisions by communicating results and findings in a clear and concise manner
Qualifications - Tools and Domain Knowledge
- A degree in computer science, information systems, analytics, a related field of study, or relevant work experience
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data visualization and building reporting/dashboards
- Experience in BI and Analytics best practices, requirements gathering, data modeling, in-depth data analysis
- Expertise with BI tools including reporting and data visualization platforms (example - Mix panel, Tableau, Power BI, Yellowfin, Looker, or equivalent tools)
- Intermediate to Advanced SQL, data querying skills necessary to query and analyze data
- Python skills are a plus but not necessary
Skills and Abilities
- Understanding of data and the role it plays in a modern organization
- Knowledge of relational and non-relational database storage management systems, including Big Data platforms, preferred
- Develop data-driven solutions and strategies to organizational challenges
- Strong data visualization skills
- Complex problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Accountable; takes ownership and pride in their work
- Ability to work independently on multiple engagements, communicate and provide timely updates
- Natural curiosity with a strong desire to learn, maintain, and apply knowledge of emerging BI&A tools, strategy, methodology, and general best practices, preferred
