Overview:

The Clinical Quality Outcomes team is a dynamic group with clinical, technical and financial experience that partners with leaders across the Ministry.


Our team leverages its expertise with interpretation of quality measures, new payment models, statistical analysis, data modeling, visualization development and electronic health record data mining to achieve the purpose statement of the Mercy Quality and Safety department:
Mercy Quality and Safety will drive high reliability outcomes, accountability, clinical excellence and remove unnecessary variation. The effective alignment of people, processes and technology will provide the best care to our patients by eliminating harm and realizing the quadruple aim.

The Associate Principal Clinical Quality Outcomes Analyst will work collaboratively with the Mercy Quality and Safety team and leaders from multiple departments to coordinate the evaluation and implementation of analytics strategies across the Ministry.
The role requires the ability to analyze healthcare data from conceptualization through presentation and coordination of multiple data-related projects and initiatives.
Proficiency with analytical tools, knowledge of data analysis methodology, use of presentation software, strong communication skills and a strong commitment to and affinity for delivering the highest level of performance on quality metrics is essential for this role.

Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: 12 years of relevant technical or business work experience. 3 or more years of experience leading or coordinating projects and teams
    • Strong understanding of database structure, design, query languages (e.g. SQL/Oracle)
    • Technical business intelligence solution design experience in data modeling, query optimization, enterprise level solutions, etc.
    • Experience working with a variety of information systems and data files
    • Demonstrated experience in analysis and presentation of data
    • Experience with a minimum of one business intelligence or data visualization platform (e.g., QlikView, Tableau)
    • Experience developing solid, effective and efficient analytics solutions that are supportable
    • Practical experience building and evaluating visualizations
    • An understanding of the key techniques used in visualization, including the ability to use multiple visualizations to convey a meaningful narrative. certification
  • Required Education: Bachelors degree in information technology, computer science, public health or other relevant field
  • Preferred Certification: Epic Clarity 
  • Other Skills and Knowledge: Creative thinker with strong collaborative and workflow analysis skills. Critical thinking skills with the ability to quickly make calculated decisions from limited written and/or oral information. Exceptional communication skills with all levels of management; ability to express oneself in writing and orally; and comfortable speaking in groups. Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with diverse groups and individuals, medical staff and other health care disciplines and interact with all levels of employees. Knowledge and experience in applying principles of continuous quality improvement within a complex organization.
