Bungalow is the largest and fastest-growing roommate living company in the United States. We’re on a mission to create a world where everyone can truly feel at home, wherever they want to live.

We work with homeowners across the US to take the hassle out of property management and maximize what they earn so we can provide renters with the best homes the market has to offer.

And we know it can be challenging living with roommates, but we believe it’s worth it. We’re removing the hassle from moving and everyday living, and providing an affordable product that helps people live in the cities where they have better access to opportunity.

Join our community! The Business Operations and Data team drives cross-functional efforts to enable growth and business impact. We help solve the most complex, mission-critical problems by leveraging data, creating scalable systems and processes, building new teams, driving strategy, and owning large cross-functional initiatives. We’re an impact-oriented, analytically-minded team excited about the interesting, dynamic challenges of a rapidly scaling startup.

What you'll do:

    • Partner with teams to be their data investigator. You’ll dig into structured and unstructured metrics to generate insights that solve the most critical problems to improve Bungalow’s growth, customer experience, and financial performance.
    • Interpret business questions into data queries. You’ll write SQL and dbt models that create the datasets, dashboards, and analyses that power our teams in a strongly data-driven culture.
    • Empower our teams with the right data visualizations and models to make the right decisions. You’ll develop and communicate compelling, insightful recommendations for business stakeholders to make fast and accurate decisions to help us exceed our aggressive targets.
    • Take on projects in any area of the business. You’ll work closely with many teams, including Product, Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams to execute recommendations and drive results.

Who you are:

    • You speak data fluently and teach others to do the same. Strong experience with spreadsheets, data visualization/BI tools, and SQL to communicate insights clearly.
    • You can execute across a wide surface area. Experience normalizing and analyzing datasets from internal and 3rd party databases (e.g. Salesforce, Segment, Facebook Ads)
    • You deal with complexity and simplify. You have strong logical and analytical reasoning abilities but can seamlessly communicate insights to any audience to enable common understanding and drive results.
    • You thrive in ambiguity. You love a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. You seamlessly prioritize competing priorities and tasks toward maximum impact.
    • Desire to learn how to use data effectively in a fast-paced, start-up environment. You have spent time developing technical expertise through a boot camp, independent learning, or being the go-to for data at your current job and want to take your work to the next level.

    • Bonus Points:
    • Experience with R, Python, or other statistical analysis tools
    • Knowledge of dbt and data modeling
    • Prior experience in strategy, business operations, data analytics, or another relevant role at a high-growth startup

What you value:

    • Build better. Always challenge the status quo, constantly look for ways to improve across the entire organization.
    • Focus on impact. Ruthlessly prioritize and continue to ask: "Does it scale?"
    • Community first. We always look for ways to make our applicants, customers, and teammates feel more at home. We are the steady & trusted source for members new and old.
    • Feedback obsessed. We are constantly looking for feedback (from customers & teammates) in order to find ways to improve our experience across all facets of the organization. We never settle for the status quo, we consistently drive progress and growth by challenging our mindset and iterating our processes.
    • Move fast. We are less afraid of making mistakes than we are of losing opportunities by moving too slowly. We are a culture of builders & innovators.
    • Be an owner. You are the expert & ruler of your domain. If you see something broken, fix it or work with the team to make sure we are always at our best. Always look for ways to improve organizationally and personally.
