The HowGood Research team seeks an experienced data analyst. The selected candidate will be responsible for wrangling and ingesting customer data, peer reviewing data team members’ scripts and outputs, designing and running reports for customers, assisting with ad-hoc data projects, and contributing to both automating scripted processes and data science projects. This person will collaborate with the Research, Product, and Engineering teams on the responsibilities above with primary focuses on customer data wrangling and ingestion, and ongoing data management and QC processes. The candidate will have very good communication skills, and will be comfortable participating in a fast moving, business goal driven environment.
Applicants should have an interest and excitement in integrating a huge array of different sources, improving and standardizing processes, and a passion for sustainability and regenerative agriculture. HowGood’s data complexity is derived from the diversity of sources and the flexibility required to integrate each data source into HowGood’s best in class decision support software. Environmental impact data from established international NGO’s is processed alongside working condition reports at the county level, and the right candidate will be excited by the challenge and ready to creatively design additional solutions for standardizing the collection, cleaning, structuring and ingestion of data, and delivering new insights.

Looking for candidates who have:

    • A minimum of 2 years of data work experience after graduation
    • Experience and comfort working on a remote team
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to reprioritize as needed and meet deadlines
    • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with different teams
    • Technical writing skills
    • Clear judgment based on priorities and context
    • Attention to the right details
    • Ability to overlap East coast hours

Required skills:

    • Strong mathematics skills (Masters level applied statistics preferred)Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Microsoft Excel
    • High degree of comfort with data management, ETL techniques, and data ingestion
    • Experience with QA/QC testing and data troubleshooting 
    • Reporting and spreadsheet skills
    • Experience with Mac OS and Google suite

$70,000 - $80,000 a year
