Data Analyst, Insights & Analytics
We're looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong technical data insights and analytics background with a knack for interpreting and communicating the “why” behind data and its application to business.  In this capacity, as a member of the Customer Success team, your job would be to deliver actionable insights and reports for our clients, working collaboratively with our data science team to mine, explore, and analyze terabytes of content insights for ~100 brands.  

Reporting to VP Customer Success, part of the Insights team, this role has has two key objectives: 
1. Deliver custom deep dive analyses and insights reports to our largest enterprise clients 
2. Assist in productizing and scaling the most relevant insights/models so that they can be delivered to clients at scale. This could be in the form of: 
(a). Benchmarks for marketing thought leadership content 
(b). Benchmarks for customer success and consulting engagements to help customers understand where they fit on the spectrum 
(c). Providing VOC feedback to product and data engineering on Insights that would drive outcomes and be valuable to customers

    • A great storyteller with data who is relentless in their pursuit to uncover actionable insights to help customers achieve their business goals. 
    • Is passionate about creating compelling reporting that explores data that clients struggle to find meaning in.

On a typical day you will:

    • Analyze content intelligence data to identify patterns, uncover opportunities, and create common understanding of how content is performing for individual accounts as well as across industries, personas, and other categories.
    • Work with internal and external teams to take ownership of processes, effectively optimizing them, delivering all of the actionable insights you uncover to Knotch’s largest enterprise clients based on their desired business outcomes.
    • Package data, to create detailed stories using your advanced skills and knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques: delivering high quality and integrated communications, highlighting analytic capabilities to illuminate actionable insights aligned to client business goals with objectives.

Customer-Focused Expectations:

    • Compile findings and present recommendations at many different levels of detail and to various audiences in a professional and engaging manner. 
    • Utilize multiple data sources, such as content measurement, competitive intelligence, website analytics, and scope documents to come up with data strategies to meet and exceed our client's business objectives. 
    • Lead analysis review sessions with internal account team(s) prior to client meetings then with key enterprise clients on a monthly to quarterly basis. 
    • Conduct omni-channel analysis to uncover insights related to the conversation connected to our clients and their competition and how influencers, audiences, and content impact the discussions.

Marketing Interface Expectations:

    • Helping sales/marketing by packaging data across our customer base into a consumable format to drive sales/marketing efforts.

Product/Engineering Interface Expectations:

    • Working with Data Science team to help them understand Business objectives

To Qualify You Must Possess All of the Following:

    • Three (3) or more years of experience conducting advanced queries of structured and unstructured data using SQL (Postgresql preferably), along with extensive experience in any of the widely used data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Sisense to structure, curate, package data to enable storytelling by creating comprehensive dashboards. 
    • Three (3) or more years of experience using Python, R, or Scala to aid in data analysis and reporting 
    • Three (3) or more years of experience collaborating with non-technical stakeholders to iterate on an analysis with the end goal of ensuring the right questions are being answered. 
    • Experience automating recurring analyses, and proven ability to comfortably, effectively work in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional, rapidly changing environment, preferably at a late stage start-up. 
    • Excellent communication and soft skills for cross-team collaboration. 

The Following Education & Technical Experience is Highly Preferred

    • BS in an analytical field such as Statistics,  Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Business Intelligence. 
    • Regular exposure to a diverse and constantly evolving set of ETL requirements. Regular use of Snowflake, PostgreSQL and MariaDB.
