The Role 

We are actively seeking a skilled individual to join our product team as a Data Analyst for ApartmentIQ. This role is tailored for those passionate about crafting insights for product teams and engineers as well as sophisticated algorithms to support the ApartmentIQ customer base. This role will be a key contributor to uncovering data anomalies and insights to power delightful customer experiences in the product. Your primary role will include querying, managing, and transforming data with SQL to find patterns that can support business decisions and engineering priorities. The ability to write scripts in python or R will be a plus. 

In this dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will need to be a strategic thinker with excellent organizational skills, follow-up abilities, and effective verbal and written communication. Your ability to synthesize current data to assess areas of improvement, support recommendations for action, and define and implement technical changes will be key to your success in this role. 

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive data analysis to uncover trends and correlations that have business impact
• Use programming languages such as Python, R, or similar for algorithm development and data analysis.
• Identify gaps in data sets needed for business analysis and proactively solve them by aligning with stakeholders to ensure we are correctly instrumented and have data in proper structure and formats
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and align analytical and algorithmic solutions with organizational goals
• Engage in continuous dialogue with stakeholders to refine algorithms based on real-world feedback
• Use machine learning frameworks to create proofs of concept models for problems including anomaly detection and data validation
• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement machine learning models into production

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in product analytics and/or data analytics
• 2+ years of hands-on work experience with SQL 
• 2+ years experience with a data visualization tool (e.g. Tableau, Looker or Domo)
• Bachelor's - preferably in a highly quantitative field (i.e. mathematics, statistics, computer science), economics, or business administration
• Excellent descriptive statistics and data interpretation skills 
• Strong voice for data-driven decision-making
• Self-motivated and experience working autonomously on data projects from initial data collection to final business decision 
• Naturally curious and highly motivated to jump in, analyze, experiment, and learn
• High degree of attention to detail and diligence in verifying the accuracy & completeness of work
